Carty only 20 I think started boxing late enough only 16 or 17, good fighter but Gardiner looked like he has improved a lot, could have a chance of getting to Rio.

One of the poorest finals nights in a while overall, I thought. Just didn't see anyone emerge with any star quality like a Nevin or a Conlan. Walker looked alright and I was pleased for Walsh, he dug it out. But a lot of the high performance lads just won on fitness, not any great technique or class. Nolan and Joyce were fairly s****py, O'Reilly was poor, by his standards. I actually liked Buckley in the first fight - at least he landed shots and combinations. Agree re Moylette, would make a great pro, can't blame him if he doesn't want to go down that route though.

Agree, like him - and McComb. I hope McComb gets a shot at qualifying again if DOJ doesn't.

think McComb and Moylette should get second qualifier if DOJ and Walsh miss out in the first.

Impressive performance by Eubank - phenomenal athlete, great engine.
Spike really is granite-tough, taking those shots. Even if junior isnt a huge puncher, the sheer volume must hurt.....good decision by Pascal.

I thought Eubank would have too much for him but not outclass him like that,
I wonder when spike was saying nothing else during the week but "i got the fight i wanted" did he mean he got the payday he wanted?
Hurtfull to say but he looked no better than a good eastern european journeyman tonight.

Hate to rain on your parade, but Andy is going nowhere other than back to Limerick with his tail between his legs. BJS is gonna school him. Maybe Andy could chase a fight with Spike?

Len is this your post for the coming week?or can we expect ducking and diving?

I thought going in that Eubanks' 'happy hooker' style would give Spike a chance. But Speed Kills as they say, as was shown during his fight with BJS - and the intensity of Eubanks volume punching was too much for Spike. He was just overwhelmed. Swamped. Couldnt cope. I thought he might get chances throw back in between CEJs shots but Spike is just toooo sloooow. Lack of Speed is his downfall.

He has the mental and physical toughness in spades, power too, but he falls down in terms of speed and athleticism. He is tooooo sloooow.
