Naughty boy! No - there'll be no ducking and diving from superlen this christmas! I know every man and his dog is sure Andy kos BJS, even my friends in boxing say so. But I'm sticking to my guns. BJS to win points decision. You can laugh but I stand over my record of picking winners just recently ....I picked CEJ to beat Spike (ok i wanted Spike to win). Jacobs to beat Quillin..etc PS of course I want Andy to win - just like i wanted Spike to win too....:thumbsup
why let buglioni fight to near exhaustion when he was losing widely on points and not let spike go on ?....why one and not the other ?
Hopefully Andy can do the business next week after former Crumlin boxer Conor McGregors great win last night. Great left hand that was made in Crumlin he is a great inspiration to any Irish man and boxer at that, I reckon the likes of Haymon and Goldenboy will be quick to snap up the best irish talent after the Olympics looking at Conors popularity they might think they could cash in with a similar boxer a la Conlon or Ward who have similar personalitys and belief. Mayweathers man Ellerbe was saying on an interview yesterday he loves McGregor as he sells tickets and has a great personality for the fight game, I think his success is a great thing for Irish boxing .
So you think the sight of thuggery like that - - one guy clubbing an unconscious man on the floor into the face with his fist is 'a great thing for Irish boxing;? Perhaps if Andy floors Billy Joe next week he should put the boot in eh? I dont see what so great about it at all......
I know what you are saying, sort of there will be spin-off benefits for our boxers, yes? You think Boxing Promoters will be more keen to promote Irish boxers as a result of Conors' success? Maybe.....
Spike got hammered Andy Lee chance to get schooled next week and only that quigley lad coming through dire time for the paddy's ?
Buglioni had Chudinov down (kinda) which gave them hope of a hail Mary. Spike hit Eubank flush in the 7th but they could see his power was already zapped so they knew there was no point in continuing
Theres no word from Spikes stablemate Kukekiko. The silence is deafening from him. Perhaps - I knoe I'm clutching at straws here- there was something wrong with Spike that we don't know about? An injury? It seems strange he only had 4 good rounds of boxing in him. Over-trained perhaps? Dunno???
Feedback from the fighter in corner reasoning behind pull out, he felt out of balance with eardrum gone and was tiring so no point in continuing, don't think Spike was hurt but accumulation of punches eventually get to a fighter similar to Macklins fight in 3arena and could end with bad KO. I'm positive Spike would have preferred to stay in and go out on his shield like most fighters but that's corners job to protect.
