There's a reason why Sonny Liston, George Foreman, and Earnie Shavers are regarded as the hardest hitting heavyweights.

A better question is why are so obsessed with this?

What if we have a vote and Shavers wins, what does it mean?

Cause we know it doesn't mean he's the best fighter in the division.

Chuvalo who fought most of the heavy punchers in the '60's picked De John as the hardest puncher he every faced.

But that aside, you still never answered the question as to why you're so obsessed with who hits harder?

    Fair enough.
Grant landed a big one in the second too, without much affect.

Personally a 7.5 for me :hey maybe not good enough to be an 8 but not as low as a 7.

    6 seems harsh. :!:

I'd put in around a 7 perhaps 7.5 somewhere in that vicinity. I think if you're getting much lower, you're not even discussing an ATG you're discussing why Shavers didn't go father in his career.

Certainly his chin held up for the most part, but it wasn't on the level of a Ali, and Holyfield. But fighters such as Tyson and Foreman have been down more than Lewis, but the flip side of that argument is they either got up (Foreman) or took much more punishment (in Tyson's case) before going down.

    I agree with all this.

Lewis chin was'nt the problem it was that his head was somewhere else when he got caught in his defeats.

    I honestly can't.

Based on what I know, the similarities strike me more than the differences.

I think a cautious Lewis would use his size and reach, and take a tentative decision win.
