Finally did research on Roy Jones. He actually did avoid most of the top MW-SMW.

How ironic of him to say that I only allow for the scenario that I want to believe, when he's done the EXACT same thing.

    What?

We know what Roy said was incorrect.

So he either made a mistake or he lied?

I wonder which one you'll pick.

    It wasn't a duck.

Roy was well within his rights not to go to Germany. Everyone knows about the belts that Dariusz lost out of the ring, but that had nothing to do with Roy.

Now if Dariusz had still got the belts around his waist in 2001, then Roy would had to have made concessions to go to Germany. But by 2001, Dariusz's belts had been passed around a few fighters before Roy obtained them. Again, that had nothing to do with Roy. So why should Roy have had to have gone to Germany, when at the time he'd got all three of the main belts around his waist, with Dariusz only holding the lightly regarded WBO?

Also, Roy had been scarred from the Olympics and he'd no doubt seen Dariusz disgracefully cheat against Roch to get him disqualified in their first fight.

I wanted to see that fight so bad. But I can't criticize Roy for not going to Germany to put all his belts on the line, against the lightly regarded WBO.

Dariusz also had no intention of going to the U.S. either. He was more than happy to keep milking the WBO over and over in Germany.

Look at his resume after he'd lost the belts.

It paints a very clear picture:

What was Roy collecting ? Belts off of mandos Darius ducked ? Keep reaching who called out who ? Who wore we want Jones shirts but Jones should had been chasing him ? 95% of boxers didn't want to fight in Germany people still don't til this day .The offers were made Darius didn't even bother to negotiate that's the real knock and its on him..

Roy's opposition from 1995 to 2002 was embarrassing. His lone 'good' win in that time frame was Hill who had already lost his belts to DM so that fight was meaningless. Maybe you could throw Griffin in there too but other than that it was a bunch of unemployed streetcar conductors, police officers, bartenders, mailmen, and other various civil servants.

He wasn't looking to make the big fights or take chances he was looking to make money fighting the easiest fights he could.

As usually you spit the same dumb **** ..How does it feel not knowing **** about boxing ..Funny but what did Dm's resume look like after he won the belt ? Reggie Johnson and Lou Devalle were much better than half the bums Dm fought yet his resume was embarrassing :lol: I love reading your failed attempts in trying to discredit Roy yet he has a much better resume than all the guys you accuse him of ducking ! He actually made better fights then the guys mentioned but you want to keep reaching go ahead now I see why you transmontane you can't make any valid Pts so you go on your reporting tanturms :lol:

Shall I chime in on the Dariusz vs Roy debate? I warn you I will end up decimating the entire thread if do though. I'll carpet bomb it he **** out of it from first page to last with irrefutable fact bombs, adeptly dismantling and demolishing every feeble argument, lie and untruth the Roy faithful have put forth. I'll run right over them all like a steamroller rolling over a plague of rats :deal

Jones Hopkins was for the IBF 160 title that was vacated by James Toney. Can't blame Roy for taking this fight as it was for a title.

This is BS. Toney was the IBF 168lb champion and the #1 Super Middle in the world. If Toney didn't want to fight @ 168 then he shouldn't have signed the contract and he should have vacated his IBF 168lb title like he did @ 160.

IIRC, Jones was willing to fight Dariusz M. on neutral ground but I believe Dariusz M. was reluctant to leave Germany..

LOL. What had Rocchigiani ever done to warrant a fight with Jones?

Jones beat Toney who beat Nunn

Jones beat Julio Gonzales who beat Michalczewski

You don't rate the Reggie Johnson win at all?

I get that Reggie was past it, but he was a world champion and Roy looked spectacular in that fight. Roy also wiped the floor with Hall in great fashion.. Hall would give DM all he could handle.

Thats like saying why do people rate Wards win over Froch as high as they do when Froch had already lost to a fighter Ward had already beaten
