BHop also takes a better shot than Ward does, even at 50 years old.

Lol at Froch... At least compare it to Kessler.

Kovalev only has a one inch reach advantage and Ward has much faster hands, that jab to the body gets countered with Wards jab/tweaked left hook over the top all night. Kov gets beaten to the punch and then tied up and punished on the inside where he doesn't have much going on, Ward won't let him find his distance which takes away his bread and butter, the jab/straight right. I don't think it will look that dissimilar to the Dawson fight with Ward scoring a late stoppage via accumulation.

To be fair, I think ward can takeaway Kovos left hook and counter it. Just not sure he has anything for the jab

I had no idea kovo only had 1 inch advantage, but don't compare this to the Dawson fight wayyyyy to different style of fighters

Yes age means a lot , but didn't you day Wlad lost to Fury not because of age? So I guess hopkins age had nothing to do with his loss to kovalev?

Wlad was ten years younger than Hopkins, rated p4p#1 or 2 and a dominant world champion for over a decade. No comparison.

You touch on something big in this fight. Ward's right hand is nothing special. He doesn't have the firepower to keep Kovalev off of him. Kovalev's jab to the head and body, coupled with his concussive power, will force Ward to be extra cautious. Counter-jabs, the occasional left hook, and rushing in with earmuffs on a guy like Kovalev aint gonna cut it.

Thats what I was thinking. I'm being unbias ass possible.

If kovo was a southpaw , ward could neutralize his jab with a jab of his, but he's not

He can still neutralize it with his own jab, he has much faster hands. Ward won't be letting Kovalev stay in range long enough to get too many jabs off anyway, he'll be landing first and then tieing him up. Kovalev has a decent punchers chance but he can't outbox Ward

This can be true, but this requires Ward come in , in super shape. Not the shape that he fought froch or Kessler, he was tired the last 2 rounds of those fights

Had Hopkins been 15 years younger, he would have schooled Kovalev...
