This is interesting to read cause Parkers resume is paper thin. AJ has beaten better quality opposition. They may both be hypejobs, but AJ's record is clearly better quality at the moment :deal
Sigh....such a pathetic argument. Considering the fact that Whyte faced these guys a year or so later, and that Parker has improved dramatically since. Parker went rounds with Minto, dominating, getting experience. I could say that Whyte from those fights hasn't improved... Time will tell, but boxing experts tend to know what they are talking about when they talk about Parker in the media.
You are no boxing fan, just a Parker fan. Every single one of your posts are about him. When he gets knocked out I hope you stick around and become a real fan of the sport.
I can't be both? I've been interested in the sport since Tua got his medal , and famously asked for an O for Awesome on Wheel of Fortune in 1992. A debate is great, and that's what forums are for....how boring would it be if everyone agreed with one another? By the way, I still think Joseph Parker >>>>>> Anthony Joshua.
What you say is correct. But we know its one thing to look good against 45 year old guys like Botha and to fight an undefeated top 25 guy. I am not dissing Parker. I just said we still have to be careful before jumping on the bandwaggon. Lets see him fight someone with a fringe contender track record who is below 35 years old and who comes to win. Then we can all build our own opinion. I hope Parker is what some think he is. I really do. All I am saying is I don't want to get overexcited yet before he passes some important tests.
True. He definitely needs to step it up at this point. Still, I think it's pretty obvious he has bucketloads of talent that's going to carry up. I'd be shocked if it doesn't.
What if that doesn't happen before AJ does? Who or what level are you claiming will do that to Parker so we can revisit this when he faces someone of that level?
I would definitely rate Joshua as more tested and proven now, it'd be foolish to disagree with this sentiment - he didn't pass with flying colours in terms of what a lot of people (99% of Britain) blow him up to be, but he definitely proved he is what he himself promises to be... a future contender and someone developing impressively. It was a very brave match to get into for both of them. I hope we get to see Parker against someone who may provide some solid resistance in the coming months to get a better gauge of where he is at. Well Joseph looks strong and sharp as shown on his Facebook page videos. I can't yet post links on the forum...but an easy search will find some nice videos to critique. Speed + Power
