Back in those days, the saying in boxing forums like this was that HBO stood for Home Barrera Office.
.......HBO's bias calls started way before MAB though. The epitome of HBO's bias stands with their call of Chavez vs Taylor.
HBO depicted a shutout, schooling type of a performance by Taylor while Taylor was literally getting his physical being (his vital organs including brain cells) pummeled by Julio Cesar Chavez.
HBO however was oblivious to anything that was happening in the ring and depicting an illusion of Taylor dominating for the viewers.
It was a shameful depiction by HBO on their list of many.

It's closer to being the worst trilogy of all time than it is to being the best, IMO.

I personally had MAB winning all 3 fights on my cards, with the first fight being the widest win for MAB, and the second fight being the best case effort from Morales.

So you think it's better to include the MAB-Morales trilogy in a group that includes Ruiz-Holyfield instead of grouping it with the likes of Ali-Frazier and Bowe-Holy?

My bad I was thinking of Terry Norris vs Luis Santana. I've always got Norris and Morales and Barrera and Santana mixed up for some strange reason. :patsch

The Barrera vs Morales trilogy is fantastic.

Still watch this trilogy to this day and am still excited to. Hard to choose a favorite from the 3 though...

No it isn't. The first fight was leagues above the other 2 in terms of entertainment value.

I agree with this.. Morales beat Barrera in the first fight. Barrera landed the flashier punches but Morales clearly outworked him.

Well I thought both guys took a just unfathomable amount of punishment in the first fight.

But it always looked to me that Morales was taken the brunt of it. He was the guy who had to retreat a couple of times, get wobbled, etc.

And I thought that Barrera won round 5 for example. That was the round where Morales did most of the work, but then Barrera stunned Morales.

I had to give Barrera the first fight for the damage he was dishing out.

Morales won that one easily. Was the easiest of the trilogy. He did more. Way more.

He fought to survive in the second Pac fight. Seemed like he was scared of Jones in the second fight as well.

Watch the 5th round again. Barrera lands nothing.
