but for reasons unknown to me boxers with iron chins have iron ears as well .

 

I think it has to do with the fluid in your ears.

 

Boxers with great chins usually have good neck and trap muscles that help the head stay in place when they are rocked.

Hopkins nailed De La Hoya with a shot to the liver that looked like it barely grazed him, and people thought DLH took a "dive" because he had a delay in reaction. But that's what a good, well placed liver shot will do to someone. It's a great punch if you know how to throw it.
