Just when I thought I'd seen it all, I've seen people argue Lewis fought more punchers than Ali.:lol:

Ali fought three hardest punchers of all time in Liston (2x), Shavers, and Foreman.

    He also fought:
    Joe Frazier 3X
    Ron Lyle,
    Jerry Quarry 2X
    Zora Folley
    Cleveland Williams
    Bob Foster
    Floyd Patterson 2X
    Mac Foster
    Alfredo Evangelista
    George Chuvalo 2X
    Oscar Bonavena
    Ken Norton 3X
    Joe Bugner 2X
    Chuck Wepner
    Henry Cooper 2X
Sonny Banks, etc. All of these guys could bang.

If the thread question is about who fought "more" than the above statement is irrelevant and also opinion based.

Comparing guys like a debilitated Cleveland Williams, Zora Folley, overblown cruiser Jerry Quarry, reluctant Joe Bugner and light heavy Bob Foster to the monsters that Lewis faced is the height of intellectual dishonesty... at least for today... so far.

You're not even listing all the punchers Ali fought while listing unknown boxers who weren't known for their punching power (or anything else for that matter)

I'll give you that, it was irrelevant saying it. I only said it because some people tried arguing Lewis and Tyson fought harder than Ali previously. But you're right, it's completely irrelevant to the thread.

Also Liston, Foreman, and Shavers are widely recognized as being the hardest punchers of all time.

Ali faced more powerful punchers than Lewis. Even Magoo said it. Anyways that's irrelevant because it's quantity not quality.

    Lewis.

Ali has 3 distinguished punchers on his resume - Liston, Shavers and Foreman. He faced some other hard-hitting heavyweights like Lyle and Patterson, but they were a notch below in terms of power.

Lewis faced 5-10 opponents that I'd classify with the trio mentioned above, along with a plethora of other power-punchers.

I said he fought a select "few" who were better in "quality" for some reason or another, i.e, Legacy, Skill, or otherwise. As for weather or not they were more "powerful", that's subject to debate as raw power is virtually impossible to measure.

It must be some new and amazing discovery that Alfredo Evangelista, Joe Bugner, Chuck Wepner and Zora Folley were punchers.

You'd think so, but then you realize he stopped Tyson, Douglas, and Moorer.
