Who faced more punchers Lewis or Ali?

Lewis didn't face the Holyfield that dropped Bowe and Tyson.

 

Bugner buckled Joe Frazier.

Zora Folley definitely hit hard.

 

Vancouver Island, is an awesome place, it's about an 1 1/2 ferry ride to the Island, then about another 2 hour drive to Comox. Not sure about the Maple Spread, couple maybe send you a hockey puck if you're interested...

 

God, here I go again. I keep getting these boxers mixed up.

I thought Holyfield was the bald guy who started out at Cruiser, and fought Bowe and Tyson, but I guess Lewis faced another guy with the same name...my bad.

 

I think we have to be careful bandying terms like puncher around so readily - you have Fury at the top of the list there - but is Fury really a puncher?? We gunna reach the stage where EVERYONE will be consider a 'puncher' simply because they're 6'7" so they must pack a wallop? Steve Cunningham an average puncher at Cruiser looked the better hitter in there against Tyson?

 

Start a thread with a poll asking if folley and bugner were punchers.

 

Not taking sides between vanboxing or Rocky's split nose .. But rid**** Bowe really WAS on the slide when he fought Golata.. He had broken his ties with Eddie futch. Was having increased difficulty keeping his weight down and slacking in training. There are even interviews around that time where his speech was noticeably slurred in contrast to interviews past... And he retired immediately after the Golata fights.. But none of this should detract from Golata being a hard puncher.. Not at all...

 

No one said any different, so no worries. I misspoke when I said he was near prime when he beat Holyfield the 2nd time.

cleveland williams hit harder than sonny liston. So Ali fought four hardest punchers of all time. Why haven't you mentioned archie moore? Ali fought him and he has the most KO's in boxing history! bob foster also is definitely in the top 10 hardest punchers of all time.

 

They hit harder than Lionel Ritchie..All night long.

 

If we are going just by "names" but we all know that Williams was literally "shot" at that point. And then we must include Mike Weaver on Lewis' ledger.

And I didn't know that Bob Foster was one of the greatest heavyweight punchers of all time. The more you know...

 

Don't forget to mention that most of those "power punchers" Lewis fought were bang on average, out of shape, past it, drug addicted or a combination of those things.

 

Their is a reason they say "punching power is the last thing to go."
