I love Lewis, but if he had been in the last three rounds of the thrilla, it would've been enough to stop him ten times over. It would've made Tyson-Spinks fight look Merciful.

I don't think Lennox could hold up to that onslaught. Not built for it.

The fight would not have went past 3.

    Joe was shot.

But he also had enough power and other attributes to ensure he wouldn't have been in that position in the first place, so it's kind of a moot question.

Yes and I think he wins.. Ali was declining noticeably by 1975.. Frazier was just as diminished. Both men should be credited with their punch numbers and the punishment each took. But i really don't think Lennox would have to go through all that to prevail especially if he were prime.

You guys don't understand the question. Could his chin endure that kind of punishment?

    No.

I am resigned to the idea that Lewis was one of the less durable great champions, but he compensated in other ways.

Assuming Lewis is placed into the situation Ali was in, then no I don't see him taking that level of punishment.

I don't think it would happen because he'd bomb out Frazier in two, but if it got to that point I don't see Lewis surviving.

Ali just dished out way to punishment. Ali himself said nobody except Joe could've taken those punches.

As good as Lewis was, his chin wasn't on that level. Not on the level of Frazier and Ali.

If Lewis was facing Ali, hes done on his feet by round 5.

Against Frazier, koed by a left hook maybe earlier

Lewis would've handled both of them. Ali took a lot of shots in the fight, against a shorty, pudgy, shopworn guy. Lewis would have pummeled him, getting to him late.

    Frazier goes even earlier.
