Aj wasn't even shortlisted, how does he get 10 times more votes, was my first thought.

But given the London/Southeast centric slant of people wasting money on phoning in, yes its true since AJs from London he might get more than from a more tightarzed Northwest england

the davis cup win is actually more historic than furys title win.

the rugby guys placing has obviously benefitted from it being a world cup year set in the UK, no way rugby would win anything without that even though sinfields exploits are top notch in his field.

He is very popular in England, way more so than Tyson Fury, that's just a fact. Merits aren't pivotal when it comes to public perception.

AJ offers more hope for a respectable world champion. Hope for something better counts for a lot, is I think what you mean. People need to feel that things can get better.

Tyson has spoilt that hope that was initially lent to him. though affably he is called Tyson, so if the cap fits.... even IronMike didn't get it that drastically wrong on the public front as fury has though.

There's 300k Irish travellers in England, shall we say Joshua has a base ten time that from his community. But no way would he have garnered more votes for beating Whyte - his only meaningful fight.

mind you, do you think they like Tyson for his terrible views that make their population look like cavemen?

I' dsay hes alienated the travellers just as much as the "brits".

Plenty will agree with him on the non pc stuff. Check how much support he got in the daily mail comments for example.

How the f*ck did greg rutherford get shortlisted, he jumps in a f*cking sand pit for a living.

More deserving people out there that deserve to be shortlisted like Jamie Vardy

Stop being so irrational. Just face the facts, Tyson Fury isn't all that popular. Just look at his twitter, a measly 350K followers. AJ has almost 100K more, and his best win is Dillian Whyte

    depends how you spin it.
greg does it himself largely, vardy plays in a team do they all deserve the award? (of course no achievement in sport is down solely to the one athlete ever).

I've usually sided with the more singular effort in a sport when it comes to individual awards.

Wasn't AJ a drug dealer and an ex con? For all we know AJ thinks the same as aTyson, he certainly defended him in an interview, so what makes him such a better more righteous person?
