I know a lot of you on here aren't fans of his to say the least, which is fair enough. However I see a lot of confusion on here regarding certain issues where you have contrasting statements from 2 different promoters. This interview however answers a lot of these questions, I did personally feel it was a very good interview and he spoke very well, worth a watch in my opinion.

I like hearn but find it very worrying that he has the final say over whether any british fighter is on sky ppv or not

He is trying to carve a monopoly out for himself

In fairness to him you cant blame him engineering such a great position for him and his business if you can, though Sky were generous giving him such a lofty status.

I can certainly see why he's done it from a business point of view!

But theres just something about the fact he wields such power over fighters' ability to make money and get big fights that makes me uncomfortable

At the end of the day he's the promoter. The boxers are who we care about and who sacrifice it all. A man like hearn should not be able to dictate which fighters get the shots and get to provide for their families

He came across so smug in that interview, like we should for some reason admire his ability to mug off boxing fans more successfully than any other promoter...

Blackwell vs Eubank on PPV? Yikes!

It's pretty clear Hearn didn't fancy that fight for Jr (for whatever reason) and thought the Eubanks would stay with him even if he lost the purse bids- now the Eubanks have called his bluff. It might be down to Eubank being slated for the April 9th card which would mean a four month gap between fights.

I hope the Blackwell/Eubank fight happens- it's a cracking domestic match up that is far better than what is usually served up by Sky 90% of the time on regular sports. If Eubank wins he would agree terms with Matchroom and reset the relationship. If he loses then Hearn wouldn't sign him. If he's as good as he says he is then he should deal with Blackwell easily.

Gotta laugh at the eubanks to be honest. Leave matchroom and then try and set up a meeting with sky only to be told to go through Eddie Hearn. Lol

That must have been a kick in the teeth for sure.

I've watched 42 minutes of it so far. Boxing FANS haven't been mentioned once, we are not a concern or of any value.

All he has spoken about is the interests and benefit of his network, company and fighters- that sums up what is wrong with boxing perfectly. We are what boxing is built upon. If you have no fans, then you have no money and no boxing.

Same with most sports. If Scudamore had his way the Premier League would have moved to Dubai and I'm sure NFL fans are a bit annoyed that more and more games are played in London now.
