Len I know it xmas and you've probebly cut back on your medication so you can afford a turkey but can you please point out where I said andy would win? And do you not seem to remember the amount of lee predictions you got wrong. Don't become the dinovelvet of the Irish forum it's pretty sad
What about Lee going to 167 would that be an option, could be the reason he keeps getting dropped latley getting down to 160 hes a very tall middleweight.
No - he doesnt have the robust physicality for 168. He would lose all his physical advantages. Remember 18 months ago Booth wanted him to go down to 154? He'll never face a smaller, less physical 'middleweight' than Billy Joe - and we saw how that went.... Andy was never that good - he was just 'lucky' for a very long time - which created a false impression of how good he actually is - and now the 'law of averages' is coming home to roost. The biggest casualty will be his self-belief. He was certain of beating BJS - absolutely certain . He must be absolutely gutted today.
The main thing for next year is the Dublin shows to continue and maintain the levels of support seen lately. In time fighters will come through and start competing for major titles:deal
Luck dosent come into it when a boxer wins a world title . its years of are work notjig lucky about it.
I put 'lucky' in inverted commas for that reason, in fairness. I dont mean the kind of luck where a guy off the street swings a lucky punch. I mean the results in the record book on paper over the last few years reflect Andy as being better - quite a lot better - than he actually is. People were taken in by this. Luck evens out over time and thats what we are seeing now.
Yes - onwards and upwards. Even if we've seen the last of people like Macklin, Spike, Andy (or we soon will anyway) - theres plenty of new homegrown Irish talented lads to take their place. No panic!
Hoping for Martin McGuinness to become first minister in the north...and Sinn Fein to be partners in a government coalition in the south:good and major success in the Olympics :good
You can forget the Govt one anyway Fra. I told you 2 years ago this Govt would be returned - and at 41% in the polls they are bang on course for another term. :dead :| (ordinarily I'm happy when my predictions come true - not this one though). Ah yes the sheep are easily sheared! SF are performing really badly - a proper shambles - and wont figure down here at all. Hope we can do without Billy at the Olympics....:thumbsup
the word on irish boxing.com is that ....cummings and our Luke fiting for the Irish title on the Frampton/Quigg undercard:bbb:good
Shouldnt Cummings square things with Meli first? Luke alluded to something like this happening - indirectly - on one of his few (very few!) recent posts on here. If they fight who you got?
