Being sparked by three journey men probably does.

Fury has to prove he's the real deal in the return, I still see it as half time and the 12th round showed Wlad was on top albeit too late. A win for Wlad would definitely underline his status.

    It shouldn't.

I'm a Fury fan, but Jennings won too many rounds on Wlad. Wlad never even used to lose more than a round or two.

That Wlad did so terribly against Jennings shows that this was all on Wlad. He's just shot. He's old.

In fact, the worst part of this for Wlad is that he's so good that we couldn't detect his slow decline until right before he basically got shut out.

Purritty was the only one you could traditionally label a journeyman.

Sanders had a great record and crushed lots of journeyman and fringe contenders. He just had notorious trouble landing fights, and staying in the radar. I would compare him to an Elmer Ray in the 40s. Who also in his late 30s upset a great fighter to enjoy some brief publicity.

Brewster was a genuine contender, awknowldged as a top 10 and top 5 guy in his heyday, well promoted by King with several high profile wins and fights. To call him a journeyman is nonsensical.

And of those three, Sanders is the only defeat that could be described as sparked.

And these fights certainly exposed Wlad as a flawed fighter, who worked on his flaws and produced one of the greatest and most dominant runs in history as a result.

Sanders had trouble landing big fights because
    1. He. Got knocked out every time he stepped up.
    2. He was a part time boxer who had more interest in golfing.

Why do you hate Wlad and K2 so much?

It's pathetic, you are a grown man for God's sake

    He's not worth responding to.

Sanders was a South African based power punching southpaw ....it's not hard to see why he was known as being avoided in his time.

Still doesn't take away from 9 and half years as best heavyweight on planet.
    Or 18 consecutive title defenses
    or 23 belt defenses overall.

Also Brewster and Sanders were far from journeyman. Purrity lost the first ten rounds and two minutes of his bout with Wlad every second of it until Wlad gassed. He was still on his feet fighting when his corner jumped in. Hardly "sparked"

    Try again
