Randy Turpin getting knocked out by Yolande Pompey was a sad affair. The licker's defence was too porous to stop the punches landing on a by then, very fragile chin.
His fighters heart was telling him to get up but his body betrayed him.
I've seen the footage of the ko once, but never again.

Lol how old was Tyson? 24? This is nonsense.

Most Shot Fighter Cleveland Willams vs Muhammad Ali
literally because Williams was shot by an Police Officer lost
many Pounds in hospital , went from Heavyweight up to Middleweight a bullet remains in his body^^

By the way great achievement that Williams goes in with
210 Pounds after losing 60-70 Pounds + permanent kidney damage.

Tysons mind Problems (or whatever) is nothing against
    that.

He worked at becoming well spoken, and was a good looking, likable guy who could have been a sportscaster himself, or model. (If DLH or Olajide could do it, Matthew looked more like a mannequin than either.)

As soon as Qwai won the rematch like that, Matt should have been snapped up by one of the networks as a color commentator. Instead, had 19 bouts which never should have taken place.

I think you're right. He could have done color commentary. I remember after the second Qwai fight Brent Musburger had them both in the CBS studio when CBS rebroadcast the fight.

Saad did do some modeling around the 1982-1986 time frame.

Bears mention here that he ultimately did not die a natural death or from anything related to boxing or that shooting, but was killed at age 66 in a hit and run. Came back from Ali for 20 more bouts from 1968 to 1972, and retired a winner at 39. Performed credibly against Chuvalo a year before he called it quits.

Pinklon Thomas was a guy that went out bad. That Holyfield bout was bad and that Bowe bout considerably worse. He had no reflexes by that point in time, but still had that good chin.

dunno if this can be classed as shot...as its a self inflicted thing, rather than being shot if he had prepared right...but the thread popped this into my head so i'll post it anyway...even if some of you shout that it doesnt fit here...

"In his last big fight he was matched with future heavyweight champion Jack Sharkey. Once again, the possibility of a crack at the heavyweight crown, and a big gate with Tunney, was in the balance. This time Delaney entered the ring flabby, bloated and listless. When the bell rang for the opening round he was unable to move. Apparently intoxicated to the point of virtual paralysis, Delaney stood staring at his corner as Sharkey came across the ring. Sharkey paused momentarily in disbelief, and then knocked Delaney to the canvas. The fight ended with Delaney on his hands and knees, crawling around the ring like a man looking for a lost button, while the referee counted him out. The emotional Sharkey, his mouth piece hanging halfway out of his mouth, clung to the top ring rope crying in joy, as the furious spectators cried fix."

That's ignorant, seriously. It's an attempt at censorship for the weakest of reasons. :-(
