How do you know if I was being sarcastic or not?

    Okay, I'll play.

Arcel and Steward said Ray Robinson was protected. Two of the best trainers of all time.

Robison for whatever reason did not fight Charley Burley, Holman Williams, Cocoa Kid, and Eddie Booker. He did fight Turpin and lost! All of those fighters were black.

Cerdan was ranked in the top 10 in 1943. He was still a great fighter until he died in 1949. No match here. And Robinson didn't fight Zale either.

I'm sure some will use dates or excuses as to why the above didn't happen. I'm not saying they aren't valid. Some may be.

Who was the best black welter or middle SRR beat? Now that is a good question. Care to answer?

    Interesting? Should I press on?

why is Robinson considered greatest middleweight when he couldn't even hold onto the title?

    Marv's resume looks much better

His division was kind of weak but he did all that was asked. He wiped his division out. He was undisputed champ. for 6.5 yrs.

He obliterated a hall of famer in Hearns. Hearns was not a 'blown up welterweight." By the time Hagler fought him, Hearns has left welterweight for 3.5 yrs, first campaigning at 160 lbs. in 1982. Between 1982-1985 Hearns alternated between fighting at 154 lbs. and 160 lbs. As proven by his ability to later win titles at 175 lbs, Hearns had a big frame and looked very natural at 160 lbs.
A "blown up welterweight" is a guy like Marlon Starling, who always fought at 147, then jumped to 160 lbs. for one fight - to fight Michael Nunn.

Robinson peaked at 147 lbs. He is probably the greatest Welterweight, but I don't think he is the greatest Middleweight. Or, it is at least debatable.

How many of Floyd Mayweathers opponents were forced to use blown up gloves? This must question his greatness also.

    Boogaloo Watts: blown-up junior middle

Plus he has a nickname more suited for breakdancing than prizefighting.

At welterweight Robinson beat Tommy Bell twice. Bell was number 2 to his number one for the vacant title.
He beat Armstrong in1943,the year previously Armstrong had been number 2. He beat the number 1 contender and his successor Kid Gavilan. He beat Turpin, the number one contender at 160lbs. he beat Holly Mims & George Costner.

    Q. Who is the best fighter of any colour that Golovkin has beat?

Robinson was beaten by a farmer and a mormon in basilio and fullmer who are both famous for beating Robinson, and not much else. Really goes to show how "good" your "boxing" abilities and "legacy" are when you can lose to nobodies and just later on make them out to be good opponents
