Today's boxers throw too many punches

    I'm sick and tired of all these boxers throwing so many punches. I'd like to see boxers utilize the ring more and throw no more than 40-50 punches a round, like Floyd did against Pacquiao.

    I see where you are going with this. You've been inspired by the "We need more defensive fighters" thread.

    It may help to embellish your thread by providing some real examples.

    Its a general statement. When I sit down and watch a boxing match, I don't want to see them trying to punch each other all the time, boxing is so much wider than that.

    How about not throwing punches at all? Just relying on defense 100%?

    That was quality boxing. Boxing is not just about punching your opponent you know.

    Very, never moved out of first gear, the finish was delightful though...

    Depends on the fighters. I like a good old fashioned tear up but also love the odd chess match, especially fighters with KO power.

    I can't stand coasters and round stealers though.

    Everybody's different, dude. It would be boring if everyone fought the same basic fight. Styles make fights.
