    I was right there with them on having Argumedo up through four against Takayama (and I don't even know who the hell Argumedo is, and he's Mexican, not Argentinian, so neither TyC nor I had any stake in him whatsoever) but that is clear homer scoring for JCR.

    I could see having given him two or maybe three rounds being generous. No way he took four of the first eight.

    It was only a matter of time that Ioka was going to take Reveco out. Reveco was trying too hard not to be a stationary opponent, and I think this is because Reveco actually doesn't have understanding of distance and timing the way Ioka does.
    Ioka is the guy with the bigger frame, economical, slowly breaking Reveco down.

    Reveco gets more tired and gets more sloppy defensively. Reveco has a lot of heart, and Ioka has a lot of heart too.

    Back to Ruenroeng vs Ioka, Ruenroeng is up 6-1 in my card as I head into the 8th round. Ruenroeng is the teacher, Ioka is the student.

    Ruenroeng beat Ioka 11 rounds to 1. Absolute schooling by Ruenroeng. Ioka looked lost.

    Ruenroeng = elite.

    Juan Carlos was hell bent on selling it as low, but that was a crock as was plain from the replays (and the GIF provided in timely fashion by the Beast)

    :good

    They say don't hook with a hooker (which isn't meant to be taken just in the literal sense, but as broad aphorism covers any "don't engage in someone else's specialty" type of scenario, in a boxing context or not) but they also do say that fortune is supposed to favor the bold. :hey

    That was a bad ass choice by Ioka to commit to staying in Reveco's wheelhouse at medium-close range and ripping his body.

    Neither of those was low, IMO. Landed crisply on either side of the solar plexus. Either alone could have been a KO shot, and Reveco had to bear the brunt of a two-for-one. :!:

    No shame being done in by that pair of uppercuts, but pretending he got hit low was a bit of nonsense.

    One really beautiful sequence in there, where Ioka land a double left upper downstairs, then a right, then expertly slips about half a dozen head shots from Reveco bobbing & weaving side to side in rhythmic undulation, then goes right back on the body attack for a moment and reverting to defense at just the right moment to catch Reveco's counter uppercuts on his arms. What terrific boxing.
