..is it all about fighting this guy Triple G ?"

Excellent question posed by Floyd. Thoughts? :think

He also goes on to talk about how people said the same things about fighting Pacquiao and did not acknowledge his victory over him like they said they would.

Danny Jacobs doesn't hold a "full" belt.

Fair point, but pedantry aside that's not the point he's trying to make. It seems like a fair point he's raised - people shout a name, but just move on to the next guy to shout about when he becomes another Mayweather statistic.

It's not unique to Mayweather though - boxing fans very much driven by wilful visions of the future.

I thought the point was whether winning a title at MW count if it was anybody else other than GGG, yes it would be a great achievement no doubt, but Jacobs is not one of those titlists, he has a lesser version of GGG's belt.

if mayweather did fight ggg and beat him on points...boxing fans still wouldnt be happy until mayweather fought kovalev..they'd accuse him of ducking.

how far is too far ?

Sadly, this is 100% accurate. If fkoyd got beaten down then won a rematch, these clowns think that and only that makes great fighters.

Beating people without losing, is somehow truly worse to the casual ignorant fan boys..

Needed extra tries makes him better, or would make him better.

The ignorance of the general public is beyond sad

Uhm, maybe Floyd isn't acknowledged for the Pac win like he wants because it was a money-grab, 5 years late, Pac was injured, and Floyd was illegally using IV's for either unfair weight gain or drug mask before the fight.

maybe because Jacobs holds a micky-mouse paper title?

and about people not acknowledging his win over Pac, see abuffy's post

I can remember back when low life internet trolls, said Mayweather was ducking Hatton and Baldomir.

And Canelo hardnosess middleweights down to 155, whereas GGG fights middlewights at 160 -- that being the middleweight limit, and all. :thumbsup

How much value is placed on holding boxing's 'World' belts nowadays anyway? If a guy is as big a draw as Canelo is, he can ditch his version of the world title should the respective organisation try to strong-arm odious "sanctioning fees" out of Canelo and GBP, and fight whoever he chooses (and at a 155-157 catchweight, in Canelo's case).

    Yeah, this.

Jacobs would be an amazing win. Let's not get it twisted though, the real champ is Golovkin. If Floyd would have the guts for Jacobs, then it's clear he ducked Golovkin.

But Floyd never said any of this, the OP is just pulling this out of his ass.
