Finally did research on Roy Jones. He actually did avoid most of the top MW-SMW.

Well firstly, what I said was true whereas you're just making **** up. And secondly, there you go again claiming he was shot even though YOU picked him to win and like I said argued with anyone who said otherwise on these boards that it wasn't the case at all. lol

I don't think I've ever really tried to elevate is it's some great win for Joe but I do try to be fair and I don't pretend that the ageing process only affects certain fighters or ones of a certain complexion like some do on here. I don't conveniently forget that Joe's hands were in an absolutely terrible state by that stage of his career to the point where he had to wear specially designed custom made gloves and you could literally count the amount of genuine power punches he threw per fight on one hand because of the state of them. Problems which had plagued him his entire career going right back to when he was a 14 or 15 year old in the amateurs.

    A 19 year old Calzaghe

    3:21

''I just hope my hands get better and keep OK so I can turn professional and be good at it''

    7:14

''I think I've got what it takes to do pretty well as a professional. All I need now is the right management and a bit of luck without injuries''

    [YT]mnBzKDPahlc#t=478[/YT]

I also don't ignore the fact he'd been fighting for 25 years with a very aggressive style and taken a ridiculous amount of heavy leather and physical abuse during it and suffered from an awful lot of injury problems throughout his career. His punch resistance was clearly not what it once was by the end of his career. These kind of things only affect Roy though, right? lol The same goes with Dariusz, like Joe he was prime right up until the day he hung up his gloves and no way his loses or poor performances (by his standard) at the end of his career had anything to do with age or ring wear. That's exactly what you Roy groupies do though

Brain abuse and punishment like this

    [YT]AikBb3DrrRc[/YT]

    [YT]6LzFsfOmwUA[/YT]

I also don't pretend that a fighter who was clearly on steroids during their prime isn't enhanced by them and in the same breath cite them being diminished due to the ageing process and ring wear. lol

Calzaghe was obviously a lot closer to his prime than Roy was when they fought each other and it was an OK win. But let's not try and pretend that he was a spring chicken who wasn't injury ravaged and whose punch resistance hadn't diminished or that he didn't have extremely brittle dried out twigs for metacarpals like you guys do.

I never denied picking Roy ..He is one of my favorite fighters I picked him in the fights with Green,Ledebev and even Enzo so call me a sadist .Thats what fans do stick with their fighter ..But he was shot and beyond his best years in all those fights don't try and pretend he wasn't ..He hadn't won a meaningful fight since 2003 he fought Joe in 08 ..

And all those injuries are meaningless because he was at his peak when he fought Roy the diffrence is he never stepped up when it counted so he chooses to fight two of the biggest names of then 90's well past their physical prime ..Also his hands were probably destroyed because he never threw a proper punch .

And as far as Roy losing in the manner he has everything had to do with his age ..Name one fighter who can operate like they did when they were in their 20's in their late 30's also consider the athletiscsm Roy had ..You think Michael Jordan of the Wizards was good as the MJ on the Bulls ?

You can cry steroids all you want but no PED can make you the boxer Roy was becuase if it did I'm sure Joe would, have been the first one to be taking them as well as many other boxers .

You can't deny Father Time ..Joe didn't have the ring wear Roy had ..I mean he didn't really test himself like Roy did he didn't even move up until all these guys had aged ..Its all relative especially with joe who took the path of least resistance so let's not compare the two when one was happy on feasting on no hopers and padding his record to protect that 0 which is something you Calzaghe defenders always seem to over look when having these discussions !

That's like comparing Mayweather's ring wear to Pacquio's ..Joe was a limited fighter and was exposed by two old ass fighters had he stepped up sooner he would have not retired undefeated him being shot is the excuse his defenders now come up with because of when he chose the biggest names around his weight class ..

Fast 2 handed boxers the same size as Hopkins seems to cause him problems.
Many fighters he beat were naturally smaller than him but the fast 2 handed fighters his own size or near to gave him problems ie Jones, Taylor, Calzaghe, Pascal, Dawson

    Michalczewski :think
I think his jab, strength and technical ability would have given Jones major problems.

Its a fight that I would imagine Jones ahead at the halfway point but I think Dariusz would be well into his stride at that point also and starting to pile it up before possibly winning late

    Yeah spot on.
Its hilarious how he tries to make out he tries to rewrite his own opinions.
No I cant take a troll like Imperial seriously and always have a little chuckle at his snipes towards me, which is probably all hes got with the way he has got himself owned over the time.
It was classic recently when I pulled him up on Rocchigiani/Jones :patsch

Didnt think you were posting to me saying I wasnt watching back then .
Still a silly question from you as many fighters have a loss, take a few tune ups and try again, which is what Roy looks like he did after his loss on points to the LHW champ, and it depends what you call solid which can be down to opinion, and as it is down to opinion we shouldnt forget what genius picked Roy (possibly based on his last solid win) to beat Calzaghe :patsch
    Run along now :hi:

Don't worry I'll answer for your dumb ass ..03 when he beat Tarver for the undisputed lhw title after which he was Koed twice brutally then didn't face Joe until 08 by then he was 39 .. This is what being shot looks like re**** ! Now get out of this conversation your messing it up with your ignorance :hi:

And again didn't you pick Froch to beat Ward and Kessler to beat Ward now so let's not act like you know boxing :good
