Regardless, this should be the last year GGG fights at 160. I was all for GGG unifying but if the Canelos of the sport are stalling him into retirement then he needs to take control himself. This is my hope for GGG: (I realize this sounds foolish but I just want GGG to take some chances and get the legacy he deserves)
2016: Saunders, some can, Alvarez. If he can't get Alvarez, he leaves him in the dust.
2017: Some can at 168, Ward
2018: Some can at a catchweight of 172ish and then Kovalev at the same catchweight.

Let me explain... GGG is 33. I'd say he has like 2-3 more years of serious prime left. If he doesn't make a move now he'll be forgotten in 10 years. I'm basically making the same post that would have annoyed me to no end about a year ago but I really think GGG can do it. I think he'd beat Ward's A$$ and I think if he can get inside, he can take out the Krusher. And I like the Krusher too!

Gennady Golovkin is that event horizon within a Black Hole from which there is no escaping for Canelo Alvarez. Because when he comes face to face with the Golovkin Horizon he will be utterly devoured and swallowed up by his darkness in savage primal fashion, and Saul will never ever be the same again.

Let's look at a few facts the people need to process before and if this fight eventually materializes.

Canelo's Lack Of Power
The illusion that has been built up that Canelo Alvarez is some type of scary KO artist is one of the more ridiculous notions I've seen in quite awhile. What are his most impressive KO's James Kirkland and Carlos Baldomir. The win over James Kirkland is completely invalidated by Kirkland's KO loss to Nobuhiro Ishida in the first round, Ishida is anything but a KO artist at Middleweight he's the definition of a featherfist, yet he dropped Kirkland 3 three times causing Joe Cortez to call an end to the match, and in spite of what people wrongly believe these were not flash knockdown Kirkland was badly stunned after all three, Kirkland had no chance in that match. Conyers dropped him hard a few fights before as well, and if Alfredo Angulo had any Boxing IQ at all (which he doesn't) he would have taken his time and finished him off and it would have been easy. As far as Baldomir goes, he was a shot to hell 39 year old war torn version and Canelo caught him with the perfect shot after he'd been tenderizing him for 6 rounds and even then he didn't KO him cold, he just went down face first but rolled over and couldn't get up.

But guess what Nobuhiro Ishida got KO'd out cold and clean through the ****ing ropes by none other than GGG himself. And later Baldomir was beaten into submission 2 rounds quicker by Marco Antonio Rubio who was stopped by....you guessed it...GGG.

Canelo couldn't hurt Hatton as badly as Kell Brook a Welterweight.
Canelo didn't hurt Trout as badly as light hitting Lara and Daniel Dawson.
Canelo didn't hurt Cotto as badly as Floyd Mayweather Pacquiao, Margarito, Torres, Judah, Corley and Trout.
Canelo didn't hurt Mosley as much as Pacquiao, Forrest, Mayorga or Mayweather.
Canelo didn't KO a shot to hell Cintron as impressively as Martinez (fight was restarted) and Margarito.
Canelo never came close to hurting Lara, yet Angulo almost KO'd him twice.
Canelo never dropped Angulo and the stoppage while fine... Angulo could have continued.
Canelo didn't hurt Floyd as bad as Corley, Mosley, Cotto, Pacquiao, Maidana or Judah.
Canelo beat Rhodes for 12 rounds before he stopped him, featherfisted Rabchenko stopped him in 5.
Canelo's stoppage win over Gomez was BS and far less impressive than Cotto's.

So this guy who can barely make a dent in blown up Welters and weak chinned Light Middles when he strategically has a 15 to 20 weight advantage over them is going to move up and start KOing legit big ass Middleweights with better chins, yeah ...I don't think so.

Canelo's Amazing Resume
Weak Glass Jawed Kirkland....GGG Kills Him
A drained Half Dead Angulo.....GGG Kills Him
Trout who was almost KO'd by Lara and Daniel Dawson, GGG decapitates him.
Lara....GGG can actually cut off a ring Lara doesn't last 4.
Paper skinned Cotto...GGG disembowels him with a body shot.

And that's his best and most legit "wins". Because he barely beat Trout and Lara.

That leaves....
Josesito Lopez Blown up 140lber
The Corpse Of Cintron
The Shell Of Sugar Shane
Matthew Hatton...Please
Ryan Rhodes...Who cares.
Gomez...past prime.
A Zombie Baldomir.

Yikes that not quite as impressive as most seem to think it is, is it?

And of course he lost wide to Mayweather who wasn't even trying to run for a change.

Golovkin slices through them all like a hot knife through butter and if you think doesn't then what the hell is wrong with you. In fact Lemieux, and Murray probably put most of them into comas as well.

And yes Golovkin beats Mayweather by KO, even his own father said something to the effect of.. "Floyd can still make 140lbs how da hell he gonna go up there and face someone that big.. man" So listen to Floyd Sr. on that one.

Now Onto The Actual Match.
Canelo has a terrible time with fighter with an accurate jab like Trout, Lara and Mayweather. He has a hard time getting past it, Golovkin has one of the best, stiffest and most versatile jabs in the sport, GGG can literally stand in the middle of the ring and jab the hell out of him and keep at bay the whole match, after all Floyd did and he's no power puncher. Add to that GGG has brilliant connect percentage and he throws more jabs than almost anyone in the sport. So that doesn't bode well for Canelo.

Canelo is a great combination puncher, but you have to actually get close to your target to land combinations and just how many jabs will he have to eat to land them, because no one else has attempted it, because they tend to get KO'd when they try. So there goes Canelo walking him down.

Canelo is terrible at cutting off the ring, well lucky for him he won't have to in this match, because GGG will be the one walking him down, and unfortunately for him... GGG kind of cuts the off the ring off better than anyone else in the sport.

Canelo gasses at the 6 round mark and fights intermittently throughout the remaining rounds, GGG fights for the full three minutes of every round in the fight and has one of the best gas tanks in the sport. Oh No...That's not good.

Canelo has an amazing chin right? Has it really been tested, after all Angulo was badly drained and look like his feet were stuck in mud even Hunter was trying to wake him up, sluggish equals little power, Trout can't crack an egg and neither can Floyd and Lara. Cotto's KO were a carefully orchestrated Roach engineered illusion that much should be clear by now. Kirkland is an accumulation puncher, and even he hurt Canelo, but he covered it well. The rest of his opponents were so past it or none punchers to begin with. Who to say how good his chin really is.

Unfortunately for him Golovkin has the highest KO percentage in Middleweight history, in fact Marco Antonio Rubio has more KO's than Canelo has matches. Lemieux has 31 KO's to Canelo's 32 but also has 11 less matches than Canelo. Canelo's chin will not hold up when he is the smaller man in a far bigger division with huge punchers when he's made a career out of facing blown up Welterweight feather fists when he's a Light Heavyweight.

And last but not least Canelo's impeccable defense. However its far from impenetrable Floyd, Cotto, Lara and Trout landed plenty, and aside from Floyd none of them are nearly as accurate as Golovkin who will have the added bonus of walking a gassing Canelo down along the ropes and throwing shots while giving him awkward angles he may have not adequately prepared his defense for, or just punching through his guard entirely, that's something Canelo is not even close to being used to. His defense will be shattered in no time.

So you tell me how Canelo will beat Golovkin? He CANNOT.

He's screwed....face it...and come to terms with it, it'll be much easier to digest, knowing that he never had a chance.

And I wrote this as a really big fan of Canelo and supporter of Mexican fighters who rooted for him against all of his recent opposition.

So Come On Canelo Man Up...and prepare to take your own personal journey into the Heart Of Darkness, if you're lucky it won't hurt that much you may not even remember it the next day.:deal

Lara would cause GGG serious problems. Kirkland and GGG would be a brawl for as long as it would last and I would favor GGG. Cotto would also give GGG problems.

No my Kirkland point is spot on, I'm tired of people recalling that match with rose colored glasses, please feel free everyone to watch all 2 minutes of the match yourself and ask yourself was it just "bad balance" or was Kirkland legitimately hurt? Even Max thinks he is. His balance was fine, Martinez's KD's were from bad balance, Kirkland was dropped by a much larger fighter in a division he's not used to fighting in. Because "weight divisions exist for a reason" and this fight is ample evidence of that.

Angulo would have stopped him in the first as well he had him down and hurt bad, but because Angulo isn't very smart when he dropped Kirkland in the first Angulo just went wild and started throwing a barrage of punches while Kirkland covered up in the corner he threw for almost a straight minute hitting him in the arms until he gassed and had no more power after that, and was completely exhausted at that point.

Here's some more food for thought. About the weight divisions thing.

Not necessarily, Floyd consistently beat fighters of a higher caliber than that with absolute ease as does Manny Pacquiao. Andre Ward and Sergey Kovalev are good examples as well. If Canelo was elite as many seem to think he was he would have performed against Lara far better than plodding punching bag Alfredo Angulo and spoiler Carlos Molina and to be honest he didn't.
