Trying to demean someone else's intelligence while making a major spelling error. How embarrassing.

He actually trained in Las Vegas. Nice try though. :good

You're running away from the post YOU originally made. You said Lewis didn't train for Holyfield, now you're saying he did. :patsch

I pick Lewis here, by KO. Problem for Dempsey is not that Lewis is big, main problem is that Lennox is big, fast and far more skilled than the giants from Dempsey era.

    Dempsey KO 5

How does Lewis keep Dempsey away? He's slower, more of a plodding fighter compared to Dempsey.

Lewis had the tools to keep boxers at bay, but a lightning speed swarmer in his prime? I don't see Lewis keeping Jack at bay.

Problem is very few on here really know what Dempsey was all about. The vast population that did know is long dead. As such the masses fall back upon what is known. The Lewis era is within most memories and perfect video of him readily exists.

When you watch Dempsey Firpo the film was unfortunately heavily edited. The very first punch of the fight which you only see a glimpse of was a right hand thrown with all his might onto Dempseys chin. Dempsey grabbed onto Firpo but never went down. Later on in the round as both men grappled in a clinch Firpo threw a very odd downward right hand....actually Firpos ko punch that hit Dempsey square on the chin. Dempseys gloves touched the canvas. This was the first KD scored by Firpo. The second was caused by the punch that pushed Dempsey out of the ring.

    Holyfield?????

I was talking about Rahman you moron. He never trained or acclimatized himself in their first fight because he was shooting Ocean's eleven.

Depend on when you're talking about Lewis, he wasn't slow neither he was fighting the likes of Ruddock, in fact he was very quick.

As he aged, he became both a slower and better defensive fighter, but when he was younger, he was actually a very fast, and offensive fighter, in some cases, too offensive.

I was mixed up between threads. But my point still stands. I'd appreciate a response to my two questions on my other thread.

Would you favor Dempsey to beat either an old or young Lewis?

Compared to Dempsey he was slow.

Ali was very fast for his size. Him versus Dempsey would be a constant chase around the ring. With Lewis there would be no chase.

Lewis was good against boxers and out fighters. But against one of, if not the greatest swarmer of all time? TIMBERRR

I wouldn't favour him to beat either. I would say he's a better p4p fighter, but in absolute terms I don't think he could beat either. The Lewis who fought Ruddock would likely destroy Dempsey, and the Lewis who fought Rahman in the rematch would also KO him, it would be just a question of when.
