This is a little difficult to explain. Many ATGs who stay in the game to long, will be troubled or on some occasions even lose to fighters that would've stood no chance in their prime. How would those respective fighters fare against the prime versions of the ATGS? I hope this isn't to simple. For example Berbick and Holmes beat an old Ali. How would they cope with a peak Ali?

Floyd Cummings drew with Frazier. How would he fair with a vintage 1971 smokin' Joe?

    Prime Liston vs Martin.

People who beat Old Foreman vs the young hungry Foreman.

How would the above fair? Also put in your own match ups.

Young Foreman would more than likely stalk and decapitate Tommy Morrison within 3 rounds.

    You're out of your mind.

There's no way Tommy would last three rounds.

How long do you guys think Cummings would last with a peak Frazier?

Peak Tyson against Williams and Mcbride

    Peak Liston against Martin

Almost always the ATG would be favoured to win.

Especially if the ATG lost to someone considered inferior.

However, there are times when a fight can expose some stylistic issues that would not be overcome by athleticism.

For example when Fury beat Wlad he did so with range and movement, you can't imagine a Wlad ever overcoming that style unless he tried using his hand speed to beat him to the punch and force the stoppage, but wth his chin, going ***** to wall isn't something you could favour him to do.

    Jack Johnson opponents fit.

Two draws with O'Brien ( 1909 ) and Jim Battling Johnson ( 1913 ). You could argue that Johnson was passed his best by 1913.

One DQ defeat to Jeannette when Jack was 27

One defeat to Marvin Hart at when Jack was 26.

1981 Leonard vs. 1991 Norris would be interesting but Leonard's overall superiority, especially in chin, would be the difference.
