Seems to be a little under-rated here. Chisora fought Fury twice, Vitali and Helenius and no one ever blasted him out like that. It was a truly impressive performance
While I dont like Haye the way he handled Chisora and Ruiz with that level of ease was pretty impressive
Agree, he's an absolute tool at times but I am grateful to him for ridding us of John Ruiz once and for all.
I'm not a fan of Haye. But there is no denying that he put Chisora into the state he is in now. Which is nothing more than a journeyman & prospect builder. Haye was a solid contender and I think he deserves the credit he does receive. However, for the time wasting & cowardly acts that he promoted later in his career, he deserves the flack he gets. I believe the way Haye carried himself outside of the ring was the reason his achievements are not acknowledged like others.
I think the "cowardly" allegations that get thrown at Haye need to stop. He pulled out twice from a fight with Fury. Once he got a legitimate cut in training. Nothing cowardly about pulling out there. The second time a shoulder injury flared up that required reconstructive surgery and almost caused him to retire. Nothing cowardly there either.
Agree 100%, very underrated performance, and it was the luckiest day in Fury's life that hay pulled out of that fight.
I need to watch it again because from memory the fight wasn't one sided at all (before Chisora got caught). Actually i was thinking Chisora was doing quite well?
Hayes comeback is due to him divorcing his wife's. ...otherwise he wouldn't b coming back. ..big payout
Haye's win over Chisora at the press conference was quite impressive too. Blistering hand-speed to bottle Chisora in the face that quickly.
I don't think Haye handled him with ease, in fact if Chisora hadn't blundered into that punch, I think Haye was getting knocked out within the next few rounds because he was gassing badly. Also I simply DO NOT BELIEVE no-one has ever seemed to notice the fact that Chisora had Haye hurt quite seriously in a round, and they rang the bell for the end of the round about 30 seconds early just the save him. Go back and watch the fight if you don't believe me.
At the time I thought it was quite overrated, actually. He was acting like he did a better job than Vitali, but I found Vitali's performance, with an injured arm, no less, to be better. Vitali was never actually hurt or buzzed by Chisora, and won or drew almost every round. Haye seemed hurt a few times and I got the feeling if he hadn't gotten Chisora out of there in the next couple rounds Chisora would have worn him down and stopped him late.
