How many on here think klitschko just didn't show up against fury?

I've been reading a few bits that deontay wilder has said about how Father Time had kicked in and that the usual klitschko just never showed up.

I think that's complete rubbish!

Klitschko just couldn't work fury out from what I remember, fury size speed and awkwardness just had klitschko bamboozled all night I thought?

Am I wrong? Or did klitschko grow old over night ???

 

He didn't look himself from the opening bell, I can remember him looking the same in Leipai fight but clearly Leipai has far too crude to capitalise. I think that Wlad also didn't think there was any chance of Fury actually trying to box him and that he could pick him off like Pulev.

Has Wlad got old? He certainly doesn't look it. 50/50 fight in the rematch for me- most intriguing fight of the year.

 

Agree I still give klit a 40% chance in the rematch. I do think if fury trains and takes it as serious as the first he wins but if he takes his eye of the ball he might get caught. Also seems likely the fight maybe in Germany again, if I was team fury be defo getting it over here!

 

He needs to train very hard on his steelhammer, why didn't he throw any right hands in the fight? Same with the Jennings fight, no right hand...

 

I thought he looked off in the fight before fury. And a rematch he'll just be older

 

If he just throws his right once early on in the rematch it will make it a completely different fight in my opinion.

 

Klitchko,s never been great just used his advantages against smaller men. People have always thought that but he beat too many challengers that way they started believing he was a great. Fury exposed the myth the first guy that was any good that actually had a height and reach advantage totally nuetralised him. Klitchko,s been a good champion but that defeats been nothing about age.

 

His performance against Jennings was terrible. Had he not had the referee allowing him to get away with his hit and hold tactics against the smaller man, he would have been hit on the inside and possibly beaten.

I think Wlad is old overnight and that night started against Jennings and continued with Fury 1.

 

Wlad has fought other guys his size before. This is a myth.

He lost because of father time.

Infact he has been super aggressive in the past with bigger men. This time he was tentative and meek, and fury exploited that

 

Yeah but hes never came up against a decent big man. Thats all fury is. But thats all it took. Nothing to do with father time he was meek and tentative because fury made him that way. What great or even good big men did wlad fight?

 

Fury was something new (tall awkward)
I think we'll see a completely different vlad in rematch - aggressive looking to land right hand/left hook from first bell.

 

Wlad likes to outjab his opponents normally due to height advantage

He couldn't do it v Fury and looked poor as a result

 

Pretty obvious he didn't show up... two fights in a row now. But the question is, is it because his age and did his level drop that much or did he just need a wakeup call?

 

This was simply 2 big fannies scared to throw a punch and Fury probably landed 4 punches to 2 to win the fight.

 

I agree with you. Klitschko had perfected a 'safety first' fighting style with which he had dominated a lot of opponents. It just didn't work on that night against Fury. klitschko needed a plan B and to be more aggressive, but he had spent years deliberately not being aggressive so he just didn't know what to do.

It wasn't that he suddenly developed a hesitation in throwing the power shots-- He was always ultra-hesitant but the difference on this night is the fight wasn't going his way at it normally does.
