How would you grade the book on a hundred scale?

I'm still reading it. I guess about 75-80? It's solid.

It's a very good book. I really enjoyed it. Maybe 8 or 9 out of 10. But I grew up watching them, so I was interested from the start.

The Olympic coverage was very good. Later, one reporter quoted in there thought Leon was actually mentally re****ed. Emanuel Steward's description of Leon training for Qawi is pretty wild, too. Qawi took out his anger from the Michael Spinks fight on Leon.

Qawi has always seemed like a P.O.S. from everything I've read, so the excuses and beating up on a hapless, damaged, totally used up Leon to assuage his angst at being beaten by his brother doesn't surprise me in the least. Sounds like a good book.

Yes, Qawi took great joy in it.

While neither brother is too well spoken and they came from a bad ghetto, Michael seemed to learn from Leon's mistakes

Michael held on to his $$ and kept a rather low profile. He also had good management and maximized his potential.

It's not his fault they allowed a fairly shot Leon to fight him. He just went out there and did his job.

After the fight, he was civil to Leon and said he was tough.

In recent interviews, Dwight seems to have mellowed. He even said he felt bad about all the punishment he inflicted on Saad Muhammad.

I read this book a few years ago. It was a fun read, especially for someone who enjoyed 70's and 80's boxing.

I came out of it with the strong feeling the Michael Spinks really didn't like boxing or the people in it, but knew he was good and could make some $. Honestly, I can understand his viewpoint.

Leon came off as a care free guy who wasn't that smart about much of anything.

Qawi should quit *****ing. He has his shot and did nothing with it. It's a professional boxing match, not a fight in a parking lot. Spinks had the better strategy.

Spinks did fight the right fight. He used his big height and reach advantages, and added in smart movement. It was a dull fight, but he fought the right fight to win.
