I enjoyed watching Gatti vs ward 1 2 and 3 but it always cracked me up how HBO tried to pump it up as some sort of bar setting epic war. Let's be honest here Corrales vs Castillo blows it out of the water all 3 fights combined. And HBO seems bitter when they talk about Corrales vs Castillo. Gatti being a solid b fighter and ward being a solid journey man. It marvels me how HBO puts that fight on top. Morales vs Barrera and Freitas vs Barrios were both better fights. So what the verdict

    Gatti-Ward 2 doesn't compare to Gatti-Ward 3, which doesn't compare to Gatti-Ward 1. Gatti-Ward 1 was a classic but Corrales-Castillo 1 was better.

The Gatti-Ward trilogy was very entertaining but kind of one-sided. Gatti won 22-24 of the 30 rounds. I'd rank numerous Gatti fights and Ward fights over their last 2 bouts. Gatti's first fight with Robinson was probably better than the first Ward one. While none of the rounds in Robinson-Gatti 1 were as great as round 9 of Gatti-Ward 1, it was better all the way through 10 rounds.

In all honesty. It was the 90s and they were happy that 2 white fighters could draw that much attention. a Irish and a Italian fighting like crazy made the Cigar Boys place big bets on these fights. HBO was in the money which is why it happened 3 times. The mafia loved it, I promise.

lol maybe. But they did seem a bit one sided. But they were entertaining I think they get to much hype.

Gatti is in the Hall of Fame, Corrales and Castillo are not.

The first fight with Robinson was just as good. I agree. Chico vs JLC may have been an overall better fight than Gatti/Ward 1 but nothing in that fight compares to round 9 of Gatti/Ward ,yes.

Well if Corrales vs Castillo aired on Showtime of course hbo might of wished it had Corrales-Castillo and might make faces at it, but for the most part hbo had the better fights. Just enjoy the great ones man. They were great fights.

George Foreman commentator the rematch kinda ****ed up the fight. He was talking nonsense.

Chico was shot for the rematch and Castillo used his weight advantage to murder Chico. Ward took a beating but was never laid out.

Yeah that speaks volumes about the hall of fame since both were better fighters than Gatti.

anyhow I agree but it varies for fans I think Morales vs Barrera I is better than Corrales vs Castillo I some people would disagree and there's the Marquez vs Vazquez trilogy which is better as a whole than the Morales vs Barrera trilogy though none of the 3 are quite as good as Morales vs Barrera I, who knows it's kinda subjective.

I liked Gatti vs Ward I better. Morales vs Barrera I liked more too. And you are on crack if you think Freitas vs Barrios was a better fight than Gatti/Ward. You know what? I liked the Marquez/Vazquez quadrilogy better too. It's Castillo vs Corrales which is overrated. Great fight, yes. Best fight of this century, no.

Chico was pretty much getting his but kicked in every round until he was able to pull a miracle. Gatti vs Ruelas was better than Chico vs Castillo 1.
