Lucas Browne is a 6'4 36 year old Heavyweight with a 23-0 20 KO's record. Born in and fighting out of New South Wales, Australia. Former MMA fighter with a record of 6-2 6 KO's 2 KO losses. I'm not sure what to think of Browne, I certainly don't think he's world level but I also wouldn't write off him beating some of the top fighters in the division, he has a hell of a right hand on him, and if he nails you with it perfectly, he may very well take your ass out. He's not as basic as most seem to think he is, sure he plods forward throwing out a lazy left jab, and occasionally throwing out the right, and that always seems to enough to get the job done, but on occasion, he's shown he has a game off the backfoot as well, and he can counter punch, it may not be his biggest strength, but at least he's trying to enhance his craft. I do think his chin won't hold up against many of the more skilled bigger punchers at Heavyweight since he was KO'd twice as a MMA once by the impressive Cormier and the other time by the not so impressive Jim York. He's definitely got a standout look, he looks like a gigantic George "The Animal" Steele with his torso covered in tattoos. He gets his first real test (aside from a shot to hell Toney) against Ruslan Chagaev this year, and if he can get past The White Tyson, then we might have to start considering Big Daddy Browne as being legit threat at Heavyweight. Check this Big Ugly but sweet and very likable Bald Brute Out.:ggg:ggg:ggg:ggg

Chagaev will end Browne, and he'll sink as fast as Leapai after that.

Seriously - after the stories team Oquendo were telling about their time in Grozny.
Sooo - the PRESIDENT was in Chagaevs corner. The decision went Chagaevs way (what a surprise, although they were both terrible, in one of the worst "title" fights ever seen)
They were then held at gunpoint, on the way to the airport, and made to supply the now discredited Russian drug testers with a "failed" drug test sample, and then offered a fraction of the purse (in a suitcase) to make the "results go away" and not enforce the rematch.

What the hell is Ricky Hatton doing for his fighter by letting Lucas Browne go there?

Might pay for some more of his wild partying i guess..

This article is an example of the utter BS exerted over team Oquendo, because RUSADA hadn't been busted then. They just used power and money to ruin people.
    http://www.***********.com/report-oquendo-failed-drug-test-from-chagaev-bout--84625

Pretty much everything they say is a lie, proven by Oquendo winning the court case, never being convicted of the drug offense, and being awarded the rematch, before he got injured. Large amounts of money being exchanged and RUSADA now outed as being completely corrupt.

"and they spoke badly about Chechnyan President Ramzan Kadyrov and Andrey Ryabinsky even though both men had done their best to make sure that Oquendo and his team had a great time in Grozny. Ramzan Kadyrov and Andrey Ryabinsky are men of honor. To talk about them the way Oquendo's team did is just disgusting and another proof for their bad character."

"Men of honor" - yeah right

I might just go and buy a kevlar vest after this post....

I'm going with Chagaev too, but Lucas winning would not shock me at all. While I don't think Lucas is all that good, Leapai is pretty bad, that's quite an insult.

Give him a decent chance vs Chag although Ruslan looked very good in his last fight. I haven't seen Browne look that destructive.

It was just Pianeta, Wlad could have probably done that too had he really tried.

Probably, but Pianeta's record is still solid C class and his chin wasn't exposed before other than Wlad who did his usual job. If Browne had done that ko1 if would have been a major statement.

never new he was an mma fighter
was he kod by a punch ?

dont follow mma at all and have no knowledge of it .

i have assumed he has a decent chin , a kick or elbow or whatever you are allowed to throw in mma would not be a true test of his chin as vitali was kod by pele reid spark out by a roundhouse kick and vitali had a rock solid chin in boxing.

Not a fan of MMA either, but I read somewhere that Cormier took him out while he was on the ground, so that may not be as bad, at least it wasn't a one punch KO.
