I don't know if Fury already deserve to be considered the best since Mike, but he may very well become so in few wins. Anyway its nice to hear Mike's enthusiasm for him, Mike's energy is contagious. And he's absolutely right when he says to let him speak and be himself. One of the best things of Mike was that he was honest and kept it real, even when he could have pretended to be something else that would have benefitted him more.
not quite, he means since he retired. SO he means better than the K bro era. which might still be asligth overstatement, since he only beat old wlad. But I'd safely say hes better than everyone in the era apart from prime vits, haye and perhaps shaggy and Pov.
Fury has already done the hard part of being great by unseating a great champ. Really all that he has to do is get a few good supporting wins and not embarrass himself for the rest of his caeer (well, in the ring that is). It is currently a good division, but there is no reason to think that Fury won't do well. He COULD beat anyone out there. WladKlit: I picked Wlad to win, but Fury won nearly every round and there is no reason to bet against Fury in a rematch. Wilder: complete ****ing joke who is manifestly little better than Scoiners, Molina and Duhaupas Povetkin: re-tooled power punching Povektin is a beast, but he is 6'3" on tippy toes. It won't be easy to find his range against a 6'9" 85 inch reach ambidextrous boxer. Haye: He's probably shot. I respect Haye as a two division guy, but his chin was never the best at heavy. With a gimpy right arm and the movement of a 35year old, he hasn't got a chance. Joshua: Team Joshua has admitted that they need at least another two years. Problem is, Joshua and Fury are the same age, and Fury, with his more refined style, has a lot more room to improve. Joshua is a wonderful offensive machine, and he can definately improve things like stamina, and jabbing his way in. It is possible he can beat Fury on power and talent, but by no means a given. Parker: too much of an unknown at this time, but not much bigger than Povetkin and will face the same problems. Winner of Glazkov-Martin: Please Helenius: will probably never be the same fighter. Pulev: has a long was back yet before his is in contention. Winner of Ortiz-Ustinov: will probably be Ortiz, who is a mixed bag. I was once very high on Ortiz. He is big, hard hitting, a southpaw, had over 300 amatuer fights, and looks the part. He is also a 36 year old steroid abuser whose reputation is predicated on beating a janitor. He'll probably be 38 before he gets the shot. Isn't this going to be outboxing another old man? And so on. I am not saying Fury WILL win all of these fights, only that he CAN.
I rate Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield higher than Iron Mike. And that pains me to say that since I'm from NY and have been following Tyson's career since the late 80's (I actually paid money to watch his 1 round PPV against Alex Stewart.) Anyway he's entitled to his opinion though i don't think many people would agree with him considering there have been better champions than him at HW since he campaigned there in his prime.
Yeah, no doubt. Tyson knows greatness when he sees it. Tyson Fury is the most talented SuperHeavyweight of all time actually. Mike Tyson is the greatest small Heavyweight of all time.
