Nick does seem to struggle at times with 'lesser' opponents and admits he was only 80% for Arnfield. That said I feel you are not giving Arnfield enough credit - its not simply that Nick was bad - rather Arnfield was impressive. Eubanks fitness, workrate has improved enormously in the last year or so, but amazingly he still to me seems totally devoid of one of the essential 'page one' skills - a decent jab.
Haha so what does that mean? That two fighters who were beaten by the same man should never fight? Totally ridiculous comment. Of that basis, Canelo - Cotto should never of happened neither eh, "both floyds leftovers" Silly.
:-( yeh they shouldnt fight. saunders garbage both of em. no one wants to see this competitive match up. :yikes
Blackwell really has to watch out for the uppercut in this fight, got caught with it a lot in his last fight, Eubank Jnr was throwing it a lot in his last fight.
I think Nick having Gary Lockett as manager will be an advantage as well, does Eubank still had Andy Booth ?
Blackwell has sparred many rounds with Eubank, he'll know what to expect. Nick is also very strong, tough and durable - he'll give Eubank a lot to think about in this fight and is a real live opponent.
You people forget the key intangibles, Blackwell although decent and hard-hitting, has less ability than Eubank JNR in every department. This should be a TKO for Eubank JR, I predict round 9. Eubank JR has taken big punches and seems to recover well, he's also got a great engine on him. Far better than Blackwell.
You mention 'intangibles' ....then go on to list a whole load of things that are anything but intangible! As for CEJ being better in every department - noooooo way Jose! Who has a better jab? What about power? ...come on Mike....
People on this thread are moaning that a good well matched domestic fight has been made compared to both fighters taking easier fights or fighting for alphabet titles against some roadsweeper on the undercard of a big saturday night bill??? Huh.
Its a 50-50 fight imo, the one thing we do know is Eubank will be mad to work for every single second the of the roung, will be slightly weaker and unlikely to stop Blackwell which makes for a very interesting night.
