Liston whenever the hell he likes. Vitali is taller. That's it. Check out Liston against Cleveland Williams, I ain't gonna link you. Don't be lazy, go on Youtube now and look it up. Williams was a one punch KO beast with back muscles like a grizzly bear. Against Williams Liston shows far more speed, power, toughness, heart, and defensive ability than Vitali ever has. Don't just take my word, look up Sonny Liston v Cleveland Williams on Youtube. Don't be lazy, do it! now. Liston fought and cleanly KO'd far better opposition than Vitali ever faced. He took out Patterson in 1 round twice. The only fighter Vitali ever faced on that level was Lewis and he lost to Lewis! Liston has more speed, more chin (Williams was a huge puncher and his lefts bounced off Liston) a better jab, more accurate, better stamina, better chin, If you watch Vitali, he has a peculiar stance and form. His left hand hangs by his left leg and he delivers his jab coming up from there. That might work on today's heavies, but a guy like Liston would be taking advantage of that flaw. Liston too had an 84" reach and was very, very good using it. He had 1 of the 3 best jabs in heavyweight history, certainly the hardest. Against the 6'5" Chuck Wepner, he inflicted 73 stitches, a broken cheekbone and eye socket using that jab. Liston by KO.
Sonny Liston might very well have beaten Vitali Klitschko... But dismantling chuck Wepner is no testimony of anything.
Vitali klitscko at his best 2004 would beat him.much bigger man.forget the reach and big fists of liston. The 212 pounder liston would look a midget next to the athletic and natural 245 pounder(the 230pounder version of tyson looked a gnomo next to him not just in height but size in general) . vitali was better than williams in every single department.bigger, stronger,i am sure hits harder, got better chin, much harder to hit, much taller and heavier. Lewis at 257 did hit harder than liston sure and vitali took everything.NOWAY LISTON WOULD KO HIM.THE ONLY CHANCE IS STOPPING VITALI BY CUTS. I CANT SEE LISTON WINNING A DECISION HERE
Lewis did NOT hit harder than Liston no matter how you cook it, you literally just said "forget Liston's advantages." I don't understand. Would his punching power, reach, and all his other advantages magically disappear as soon as he steps in the ring?
Liston is the smaller man here clearly. And i dont buy his 84" of reach he looked shorter than ali and williams in reach, even if he had this reach still he lacked of height and you cant use this reach like a very tall guy. The reach and the jab are the 2 only advantages of liston here, and no, based on i watched on film i say that the best right hand of lewis was harder than any shot from sonny.anyway liston and lewis were close in power so if lewis could not ko him i doubt that liston could
Speed, Stamina, Resistance to cuts, Adaptability, Boxing ability, Chin, Defense, Body attack, etc. If you want, I can break it down for you even further. Um no. All Foreman and Liston's common opponents said Liston hit harder. So, at the very least, an argument can be made Liston hit harder. If you try saying Lewis hit harder than even old Foreman, let alone Prime Foreman, I will laugh in your face.
seriously, vits doesn't sign against beasts like this. The only time he dared was when Lewis was about to retire.
Yes he beat the living shlt out of him. But chuck wepner was notorious for getting cut up. Hence the nickname, " The Bayonne Bleeder."
How many documented cases can you list where VK " ducked" or refused to fight certain opponents ? There are some who accused of him of ducking Rahman, but that was between 2004 to 2008 when klit was retired and nursing injuries while hasim was running around shooting his mouth off.
No, foreman hits much harder than liston and hits harder than lewis too, but the problem is that liston is not foreman.sorry , liston loses badly
whatever man, that's your opinion. My point is, their is enough evidence to make a case that Liston hits harder than Foreman. Their is no evidence whatsoever, to make a case that Lewis hit harder. At the very least, they were very near each other in power. So if you want to say, Foreman hit harder than Lewis, than you have to say Liston did as well. If you are unable to do this, you are a hypocrite.
