I cant wait to see The Ghost pummel that slow footed hook winger! If Danny loses his father Angel will go into a sever depression and need to put on suicide watch. He put so much pressure on his son by running is mouth and taught him that its bad if you lose. Even if its another top fighter. Maybe Angel is doing it to keep Danny focused but I really don't like that approach. Guy thinks 1 loss writes your obituary and total kills your marketability. Angel wrote a lot of checks that his son cant cash!
Also Angel and Danny know that most boxing fans think that Herrera and Petersen schooled him. To be honest Danny hasn't even been in a meaningful fight after getting embarrassed by them. He's fought Salka after he was schooled by Herrera and Pauile after Lamont beat him up. I bet his confidence is still down!
He needs to fight stationary targets. Every fighter has strength and weaknesses. His is movement. That is probably why Roach wanted him to fight Manny. Danny needs to fight bangers, he has a tough chin and a hard left hook. If Maidana was still around that would be good. So far I see him fighting a great battle against Porter, Berto, Gomez, and.....that's it. Everyone else like Thurman, Spence, Brook, Khan(I don't think he would make the same mistake), and even Algieri would make him move. He can't punch and move at the same time.
Good post and observation. I see it as Danny's body frame and reach is average amongst junior welterweights. Also his face busts up easy. And that's not good for a guy like Garcia who tends to get hit a lot. Man I just have a feeling he will lose one day. But I know that PBC has banked a lot on Garcia. He is one of Al's little group of elite fighters. He has the undefeated moniker and that's Haymon's favorite. Call those guys future cash cows or whatever you want to call them! lol
I don't want to sound like a Pac**** but I think Manny would massacre Garcia. Manny will exchange with him and if his combination punches are still fairly fast he would mess up his face worse than he did Margarito. Team Garcia should be happy that this fight cant be made because of Haymon. Pac vs Garcia would look similar to Pac vs David Diaz. Garcia may be better than David Diaz but not by much and whatever the difference is it wont matter when fighting Pac.
Hell yeah. Manny would beat the **** outta Danny but....that winging left Danny throws catches Manny it could be a tough night. I don't think so though. Manny's high and tight defense is excellent when he is not exchanging punches. Very underrated, but that is because everything he does is compared to Floyd and Marquez.
You people are insane. Manny's only weakness is counter punchers. Danny's the best counter puncher in his weight class. He catches Manny with a chunky left hook, and it's lights out for Manny. On a side note, Danny is shot as **** right now. Kid had too many wars at 140. I don't see him making noise at 147, he gets beaten up badly by his first real threat at 147. I don't see Guerrero doing that though, he's even more washed up than Danny. Danny wins by an uneventful, uninspiring UD.
