Both showing poor form. Lee throwing and landing more punches, all telegraphed straights on the body. Gardner favoring more lashing shots, going for Lee's head, catching neck and shoulders instead when he does let his hands go.

Lee is pushing in on Gardner with his gloves held out and then shoeshining into his stomach. Gardner falls to his knees in the corner after this pattern holds for a full minute. He's up. Lee is performing unnecessary weaving on the way in, ducking invisible shots even though Gardner isn't so much as feinting on the backfoot. Lee dipping low and coming up with hooks, very telegraphed. Gardner easily steps back to dodge. Lee moves in close and flurries, another body shoeshine climbing up into Gardner's chin. Gardner down again but not hurt. Up at the bell.

Long delay answering the bell. Seemed like Gardner was quitting. Time in called after the break has reached 2.5 minutes, 90 seconds more than usual. Lee is drilling the body of Gardner who looks as though he would rather be in the showers already. Lee bangs away on Gardner against the ropes with both hands until he pitches onto his side on the canvas.
