Nothing. I can't watch his fights. Terrible mismatches, technically awful to watch. Saw he KO'd the Pole. Good for him, surprised it went beyond 3 rounds.
This should be easy to quantify. Which heavyweights do you consider to be "top fighters"? Who beats him? I'm not saying no one can, but I've seen people claim there are 30 heavyweights who would beat him, but conveniently those 30 never include Stiverne or anyone else he actually fights or has fought. So tell us who those guys are -- are we talking five fighters you believe will beat him or 10 or 20?
It shouldn't be difficult to figure out why boxing fans would want a undisputed American HW champ. It would be one of the best possible things for the sport. I love Wlad, but he played a heavy role in the general public losing interest in the most important division in Boxing by not fighting on American soil all those years. Personally, I think Wilder has promise, but he needs a trainer that will fix his footwork. Footwork is everything in Boxing and he has the footwork of a 15-year-old amateur. He seems to have regressed in this regard since the Stiverne fight.
No sh!t, how can people troll the same fighters month after month after month. When one truly makes it to the top of their sport the more the trolls hate on them. The first and second page of this (I assume manyou more too) forum proves Wilder has done something right. Yet, every hw with a name destroys him.. I see him only having to be careful with Joshua, current haye and possibly ortiz.. Most likely more hw names will surface in 2016/17 that I see as having a chance. 2 fighters that have names get ko'd a lot easier and quicker than Szpilka who are fury and povetkin. They will both be clipped by DW, possibly get clipped before ever agreeing to fight DW
All he has to work on is his balance and defense which is mostly why he has to work on balance. By 2017 the only fighter I see giving him real problems is joshua. Possible DW works his kinks out by then and we have a real super fight that's a 50/50 affair
Despite of Wilder's sensational knockout, I'm actually less fond of him now than I was before. Even though Szpilka is a respectable opponent I feel like Wilder shouldn't have lost the majority of rounds to him. Imagine Wilder fighting Povetkin - I don't see Wilder winning any rounds + knocking Sasha the fck out. He would just get outpointed or stopped by someone who doesn't walk into one of his right hands or his left counters (that left Szpilka out cold). Also, Haye beats him. Prime Wladimir barely touched Haye so how is Deontay ever gonna lay a glove on him? Wilder is tall, athletic and hits like a truck. Possibly the hardest hitter around but punching power only gets you so far. Fury wouldn't drop a round against him.
At least he's somewhat interesting. He's not that good but he does get his opponents out of there for the most part. The HW div. is in a state of fresh air right now and that is a very good thing.
Big big knock out power, big long arms and decent fitness. Below par skills, below par chin. But quite entertaining in good and bad ways inside and out of the ring but id rather that than boring slow quiet lumps who dont excite.
Wilder is not a good boxer. But he can punch hard is tall and has a long reach. Tyson Fury would completely school him. I am pretty sure Povetkin is gonna KHTFO next should that fight happen. Wilder looked very poor dealing with Spilka's movement. Wilder is use to fighting stiffs that just come foreward in a straight line and have never heard of head movement. Both Povetkin and Fury have excellent movement.
