Harry Wills, I think he matches up very well stylistically. I want to say he'd do well against Holmes as the swarmer style is the exact antidote to beat Larry, but I don't think I'd make Greb favourite

Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, and George Foreman. The biggest shockers being Louis and Foreman.

He could potentially do well against the non punchers. Dempsey, Louis etc at their best would punch a hole through a 5'8" 165 pound fighter.

Remember Sharkeys stated the following concerning Dempseys power. "I never thought anyone could hit that hard".

That's reasonable but there's a chance Greb pulls the trick of not getting hit. I mean not clean.

Highly doubt it. One punch could end the fight at any time.

Thought I'd give this a bump since it's a very interesting question, given how successful Greb was against heavyweights. An obvious pick is Dempsey since we actually have some idea of how a fight between them would've gone. Greb's lack of footage makes picking very difficult, but I'd also say he has a shot at beating Jack Sharkey, Ezzard Charles, Jimmy Ellis and Zora Folley.

Styles play big roles in many of my picks here: I think Greb would have had a decent chance to have been Heavyweight Champion if he had met any of the following Champions, in his prime, for the Belt: Marvin Hart, Tommy Burns, Jess Willard, Gene Tunney, Primo Carnera, James J. Braddock, Leon Spinks, or even Michael Spinks. I think the best Lineal Champions he would have had some chance against was James J. Corbett and Jack Sharkey.

For the record, I believe Jack Dempsey would have beaten him badly in a title fight.

Imagine how weird Harry Greb vs. Primo Carnera would look!

Nothing in Greb's record suggests, that he could have beaten someone like Willard or Carnera.

Greb is such a legendary figure that it's hard to say anything about a scenario like this. He was capable of anything and everything apparently lol. There's not enough info to go on, not having any in-ring video really hurts.

It would take more than one punch. I can't recall anybody that Jack knocked out with one punch.

I respect your opinions a lot but surely Foreman and Morrison would have been simply too big, at least to knock out? I mean how heavy and tall was Greb? Surely George could just keep him on the end of his pole like jab for the evening and could Greb take Morrison's punch? Sorry don't know a huge amount about Greb but physically these fights seem like a stretch. It's not like Roy Jones fought Holyfield or Lewis to win his heavyweight belt because however great he was he would be simply manhandled.
