I agree with this. If Lewis fights a responsible fight, he wins big. If for some unknown reason he gets overconfident and careless though...
We talkin' legacy ? Maybe not. But what physical or stylistic attributes does foreman bring to the ring that Lewis hasn't seen or overcome? This nonsense about him folding to any big puncher he faces has gotten old around here. Apparently according to some, the only two fighters he's ever encountered were Rahman and McCall ( forget the rematches. ). But that isn't the reality.. He arguably faced more big punchers than just about anyone you can think of and beat all of them.
If some of you guys insist on clinging to this " well if Oliver McCall can do it " shlt, then let me remind you that the same can work both ways.. Was Muhammad Ali a big puncher or even in his prime for that matter when George got KTFO by him? How about jimmy young when he put George on the deck ? Do any of you think Ron Lyle hit harder than Lewis or had his skill? Okay I'll give you a break and we'll try this one, did Formean ever fight any of these guys again ?
It is debatable. Against Lyle, Lewis would be the favorite and SHOULD win, but Lyle is a live under dog. If the fight played out like Lyle vs Foreman, then Ron would most definitely win. There's no way Lewis gets up and rallies back to win like Foreman did. Against Young, a real 50-50, I lean towards Young a little bit right now, because he's very slick.
"Slick" is a bit generous-- he was more of an awkward, cagey spoiler to me. I don't see his bag of tricks working against Lewis at all. Would be an extremely one-sided fight.
Guess anyone who puts forth a logical argument and schools you is a troll. Looks like there are several others on this site.
Foreman has a much better legacy than lenni. Foreman is an equally taller opponent. Foreman's competition was much superior. Lewis mostly feasted on avg boxers and his main threats were past their best when he fought them. Foreman would have been the hardest puncher lenni would have encountered and I swear to you, if Foreman touched that face he would Baptize him in an even worse fashion than McCall and Rahman. Lewis did not have the guts to take out McCall in the rematch even though McCall was a mental mess. Less said about Lenni running away from Vitali the better
Points well taken. But basically it's the same tired old rhetoric that's been regurgitated around here for the past ten years and I've never bought into it. Foreman has a puncher's chance... That's all I'll give him.
You avoided every important point i told you and then you did answer irrelevant nonsenses that has nothing to do with i said. Like lewis would beat young? Uh? Irrelevant... Insinuating that holyfield did hit harder than lyle? What a joke. You ignored my examples of ali and marciano knock downs, they got knocked down by guys that never could dream with knocking down foreman and still they has great chins. Lewis was " A HELL OF A LOT FASTER" THAN FOREMAN? UH? Iam not sure about if lewis was even faster.your points are horrible and you are trolling badly
I'll make the very same insinuation and what's more I'll back it with statistical fact.. Evander Holyfield stopped ranked contenders in Michael dokes, Alex Stewart, adilson Rodriguez, Michael Moorer, James douglas, hasim Rahman and a few others... He also rocked a lot of big durable guys and handed both mercer and bowe the first knockdowns of their careers.. Ron Lyle never stopped ONE ranked contender.. Not one. Earnie shavers was the closest but he wasn't ranked when they fought and he gassed more so than succumbed to Lyles power..
There's no way of educating pork. These lying scum will try to convince you that Holyfield hit harder than Lyle & Lewis's chin was better than Foreman's.
