The thing is you know that Ward will loose by KO to GGG, but afraid to say that. Don't be afraid to say that Ward is just a lying coward ducker. He never had intention to fight GGG. End of the story. You can now go to bed.
Of course GGG won't go near, as Ward and Lara are on the run from him. Why bother running after cowards?
Ward would have been a corpse at 164. I don't even know how easily he could make 168. The 164 call was clearly a negotiation tactic to squeeze Ward upfront, since he is famously hardball in his negotiation tactics (own judges, own state etc). If he'd been serious at the time he could have shot back a counter-offer. Frankly I don't want GGG to beat a weight-drained fighter like Ward anymore than I wanted to see Cotto beat the zombie version of Geale. Such a victory is meaningless.
this isnt about them fighting now....or down the road....because what k2 wanted to happen did happen...ward is now gone and looking at 175....but when ward was ready to come back and was looking at fights he wanted it....but gggs people never responded....ward would have made 168 one more time for that fight only
It was to much of a risk. GGG is not tested. If Ward beats the **** out of GGG, then the credit will be low compared to the risk, because it will be like Bute all over again.. "Yes, you where right, we where wrong. GGG was hyped, and Ward proved it" - So no credit for Ward, because he beat a unproven fighter. When GGG beats a world class fighter, then Ward can do a 50/50, because the legacy will be equal the risk.
How many fighters in recent years have moved up a weight and gone against the clear number 1 right away without fighting someone else at that weight first? Genuine question. I consider it double standards on K2's part but I think the term duck is applied harshly
i agree that it is applied harshly paddy....at the same time...excessive would be a word I would use to describe the praise that is lavished upon ggg
I also agree. I really rate the guy but people do go over the top. Not that it's something new to boxing of course but yeah
that's true...its def not new....and like you said in the other thread even some of his harshest critics cant deny that he is very good and has great skills
