People go on about this all the time too, without realising that there's some pretty easy and blatant ways around the Act. If the fighter is simply listed as his own promoter, there's no illegality. And one of the finding reasons the Act was necessary was because boxing had no league/association. PBC will simply argue that it is, or is intending to be a league/association.
It's also worth pointing out that the only reason the Act exists too is to protect the fighters, no other managers/promotional vehicles. So there's close to no reason this lawsuit is valid.
You know dindu nuffin is a racist meme seen on White supremacist websites? Racist. Now we know what's behind the hate and wishful thinking for Al Haymon and PBC to fail.
Close to three million people in three days watched the Showtime Youtube link of the fight. A half a million people watched it on Showtime television live ... not counting the TV replays. How many watched it in Poland? How many watched it on Sky Sports 1? You can mock Showtime for putting it on Youtube (opposite an NFL playoff game) but nobody had to pay to watch it that weekend wherever they watched it. So it's not like they lost money putting it on Showtime's Youtube page. I watched both the Wilder fight and the Haye card on YouTube Saturday. They both looked great. Played great. Cost nothing. YouTube is where most people born this century watch everything. They certainly watch YouTube more than Showtime. I hope MORE fights are live on YouTube. I'm not insulting anyone who wants to do it. It worked great. It's better than going back to a few years ago when all that stuff would've been on low-end PPV broadcasts. We're getting more free boxing in the U.S. now than I can EVER recall. I don't know why anyone would want to see this fail.
is it says it wants to be a league or association in a factioned sport like boxing then it would be in violation of anti trust acts
chin I never mocked showtime for putting it on youtube I was merely critiquing that lunatics logic he said goldenboy were going broke because they were fighting one some small channel, so I pointed out if that's the case haymon must be going broke since the best he can do is youtube. iv no problems at all with the fight being on youtube
That's not true either. Only if it were deemed to have illegally monopolised the business of boxing, which it can't do without coercively forcing fighters to sign contracts. If he's managed to trick 200 fighters into signing illegal contracts and never reading them, then I think he's more of a genius than anyone gives him credit for.
That is basically Al Haymon's strategy, exposure. Putting it on free Youtube accomplishes that goal, and I have to say, I watched the Showtime stream and it was excellent. Great bandwidth with no drop outs or delay. One of the best live stream quality broadcasts I've seen. For those who haven't read Haymon's business plan, they fully expect to lose money for the first year or two to build the brand and to establish key boxers are household names. Those wishing for Haymon's demise are really impatient and premature. If you want to see it fail, then you'll have to wait until 2018 to see it Haymon's biz plan failed or succeeded.
its also the default response used by the type of people that inspired that meme and you can see it in this thread. ive met many black men who i consider better men than i, but ive also met many who i consider straight garbage, like bulawayo. thats just the truth of the world around me. telling the truth, as i see it, doesnt make me racist. besides, he doesnt think im white, so i cant be racist. isnt that how it works?
Bandeedo is a mexican white supremacist... And he's not the only one...LOTS of them are like that.:deal
