god I still cant believe people use that excuse "lara is a haymon fighter blah blah"....if two sides want a fight to happen it can happen....its not impossible....

I think we can all agree that GGG needs to step up, either in quality or weight, but whom, exactly, did you have in mind as an opponent? If we assume that Uncle Al's stable is off the menu the pickings are slim indeed.

Not really a lot of options for Golovkin. 160 isn't a very deep division and then you have politics, injuries, fighters he already beat, preventing other fights from happening.

Would be nice if Alvarez fought him in May since neither guy has an opponent but I think GBP puts that fight off a bit.

Saunders would have been a good opponent but he doesn't seem interested right now.

Seems he's left with guys like Korobov and Heiland or someone moving up from 154 like Andrade.

Or he could move up but with a huge money fight with Alvarez a possibility he probably doesn't leave 160 anytime soon.

In a way this is karma, K2 let Canelo extend his fraud title 'reign' until May and now your mandatory gets injured.

K2 should have demanded an immediate purse bid in early December.

 

Johnson was easy pickings anyways. The Lara fight is the only fight that makes sense at the moment, and i don't want to hear **** about haymon. If both sides want to fight they can get it done. Lara wants it, I know that but does GGG and his team? It's A high risk fight!

 

Lara has no network affiliation or contract.
So question, has he ever publicly offered to fight GGG at 160 on HBO? Has he ever demanded an offer be sent to his team?
