If he's a bum why does he need to move up to get challenged? Surely even in a dead division there's another bum who could give him a challenge no?
He isn't the biggest middleweight and also this is a classic weight so why should he move? if he were a black American with a big mouth then we wouldn't even be having this conversation. We would just be discussing how slick he was blah , blah , blah.
If he were Black American you'd be calling him an old coward:deal Ray Robinson was a Black American Change your name if you're going to talk shi.t like that
what alex said on pg5 when u call them on it they just say "well u cant take everything a fighter says literally" Im sick of these bumluvscans fans bringing up what ward said about Floyd....that was pure fantasy....Floyd would never fight a 6-1 smw....hes a welter for crying out loud ward/ggg is a feasible matchup.....ward/Floyd was pure fantasy
I know they did Bulawayo that is also not a feasible matchup.....prime 140-147 fighter against a career mw? its a stretch for Floyd....but its at least somewhat in the realm of possibility....Floyd/ward was not......ggg/ward=very, very feasible
Hagler had a higher level of opponents and had ATGs, though some were going up in weight, challenging him to fights and were sellouts and classic match ups. GGG is just too good at Middleweight and there are no realistic challenges coming from the lower weights. He has no choice but to move up if he wants to chase the truly huge fights.
So, PRIME FW/SFW Duran fighting Hagler was a stretch huh????? Or was Duran just THAT MUCH BETTER THAN Floyd.:hi:
Duran is much better than Gigi as well.:deal At least he had the ***** to move up take some challenges.
As long as GGG fans are fine with him being on the same level of the likes of Kostya Tszyu. Another guy who didn't dare to be great and stayed in a dead division instead of moving up to 147 where all the big fights were at to challenge himself. I see a similar fate for GGG if he keeps this up he's 34 and doesn't have much time left and not one fighter of note on his resume.
Middleweight is a historically prestigious division. 140 not so much. If a fighter dominates a division and cleans it out and stays on top for years, taking on the challengers in the division, that's a mark of greatness.
Duran and Hearns really is all you needed to say, You can always say" All he fought were these guys" but those guys are ATG's are were thought as so in hindsight.......now compare them to GGG's current crop of MW's and compare them. Also things are a lot different now compared to then. There are certain throwback fighters around today and those fighters are some of the most respected and highly regarded fighters of today. Look at De La Hoya, Mosley, Leonard, Pacquaio, Barerra, Morales, JMM. ECT... Those fighters took chances and moved up weight classes to do so. That's a big part of why those fighters are so loved and highly regarded! If GGG fans don't see a need for him to move up, then that's fine. But I think at a certain point GGG is going to have to test his greatness against higher caliber opponents then Lee, Saunders, Eubanks, Or should I say GGG is going to get bored better so you don't try to shoot my opinion downlol:... Either way stay or don't, I don't care but don't expect people to share the same opinion as you do on GGG IF he elects to stay at 160 Waiting on guys from 154 to move up because time is ticking and he cleaned out his division, and we don't know if he can go later into his career like a BHOP(so plz don't mention that). So he should strike while the Iron is hot and make a name for himself off of who he's beaten, because being popular isn't enough these days.
