Brook is an excellent fighter and it's a shame he's having to face fighters like this. Hearn should hang his head in shame.

 

Blame the ranking system not Brook. Brook has dedicated his life to becoming world Champion so why the hell should he just give up everything he's worked for? Of course all boxing fans want to see massive fughts but boxing politics doesn't allow that to happen all the time. He's only 29 & has plenty of time for big fights in the future without having to surrender his belt. The impatience of boxing fans does my head in, unbelievably fickle.

1) Blame the ranking system? How about blame his "promoter" who is PLEADING with Khan to make the fight happen, yet can't make a meaningful fight otherwise due to his model being based on massive domestic fights?

Hearn NEEDS to get Kell to the states, simple.

2) Only 29? You seem to not mention the fact that Kell has been a pro since 2003 and has 35 odd fights! He isn't getting younger and he doesn't need "building up".

3) He has regressed with the belt. His prime is spent fighting pointless mandatories, and his biggest win, ironically, is when he NEVER had a belt!

Seriously, Kell needs to get a new promoter, or bin the belt and get himself a No.1 spot for the WBA/WBC or just retire. He simply cannot keep making pointless defences at home against nobodies.

 

Hard to do much about the mandatories, but I agree it's a weak run.

 

Everyone appealing to 'mandatories' are just creating or falling for a strawman. We know IBF are not as stubborn with mandatories.
Also, there's no excuse for Kell Brook not taking on the Top 10 at welterweight, all who are very good.

Instead, Kell fights DONUT DAN, FRANKIE GAVISCON AND KEVIN SHOWBIZ.

I think Hearn's headliner for the card fell through so Kell stepped in. It was only a couple of months after the Dan fight and his opponent would only have a six week camp so i don't think they could get a decent enough opponent in that time.

He does kind of have decent enough excuses; Dan - mando and first fight back after being stabbed. Gavin - short notice opponent. Bizier - mando. However, he needs a really big 2016 as he has lost a lot of good will after the Porter fight. I wouldn't bother chasing Khan as i think Khan is after the Garcia-Guerrero winner as he is the mandatory for that belt. The Porter-Thurman winner or Bradley are the fights he should be aiming for. Spence is number 2 in the IBF rankings so hopefully that fight can be made soon.

 

kells biggest problem is in the future, he doesnthave calzaghetype diehard fans who will forget all these duff defences for up to a decade, as long as he has one decent fight at the end of it.
