Kovalev or GGG, Who deserves the Hype?

Is "HYPE" an abbreviation of HYPERBOLE, which means To Exaggerate?

 

LHWs like Bernard, Cleverly, and Pascal, Sergey's best wins think they saw something in Kovalev that wasnt there.

Bernard thought the Caparello KD was indicative of a weak chin or poor balance, Pascal thought Kovalevs unwillingness to go after BHOP may have been indicative of poor stamina or fear of being countered.

He DID successfully counter the shiit out of Kovalev in their first fight, however, previous misconceptions about his chin were unfounded, and Kovalev proved to be able to take as much as he could give.

Cleverly, well, he'd been chasing BHOP for so long, that he simply wanted to be able to force BHOP into a fight by beating the boogeyman.

It didnt end well for him.

Kovalevs other defenses, Caparello, Agnew, and his bigger wins, Campillo and White, well, they're no better than GGGs over Ishiida or Fujimota. Though, to his credit, Campillo was once a solid titlist during the divisions low point.

The BHOP win is REALLY the only single win that trumps GGGs overall body of work.
And well, there is only one BHOP, and at 50 y/o, theres no amount of TRT that's gonna keep him around long enough for GGG to make his way past 168.atsch

 

In that case the question is, which actually require exaggeration of their merits. :smoke

Both are undefeated. Both are feared by their contemporaries who are avoiding them like they have the plague. Together with
Gonzalez they are top 3 P4P today.

OTOH.....

Golovkins contemporaries, and I guess we should start post Ouma, namely, Martinez, Soliman, Geale(yeah, I know he manned up, but he ducked him before he fought him), Sturm, Pirog(would he???, likely not), and Cotto, Canelo, and BJS.....those guys just don't see anything to suggest that they can beat GGG.

Canelo may have a size advantage, but the skills, chin, power, and footwork advantages all go to GGG.
Cotto, he may have had a monstrous speed advantage over GGG, but he couldnt hurt Mayweather, Trout, or Canelo. Hell, he couldnt even hurt 145lb Pacqioua. No sense in even attempting to defend against his mandatory and be made to look like fodder after a career of fine acquittal vs ATGs like May, Pac, Margs(???) well....I guess it stops there, but he did do well vs them.

There was one, Chavez Jr, who moved up to 168, that was willing to fight GGG. Problem was his promoter wanted to extend him for more fights, and Jr wanted to move to Haymon, go figure.

Jr, while considered something of a bust lately, did have a solid run at MW, and woulda been a good fight for GGG to move up with.

But that's out the door now, so let's look to the future.

It's more and more likely that GGG will fight Wade, Korobov, Soro, NJkam, or Heiland. Thats the short list from what I understand.

Either one is as solid or more solid defense than was Sillahk or Capo, and while neither are a BHOP or Pascal, all bring unique qualities and decent resumes into their potential s**** with GGG.

One things for certain, call it what you will, but K2 needs to push for GGG to be more active again, and continue where he left off in 2014. 2 fights/yr isnt a TRUE CHAMPION.
He should be fighting 3-4 X /yr and he'll eventually get his Alvarez, even if his name is Andrade or Lara.
