Say what you want about Danny Garcia, he's got a hell of a resume

    I like Garcia

I admit his faults and can see why people had him losing the decision that are debated

I think he is a good fighter though he may have taken on more he can handle at 147

    time will tell

The first Morales fight is what convinces me Garcia is just good, but not great.
A way past it Morales was outboxing him handily until Morales just plain ran out of gas.

Garcia's best opponent was Amir Khan, who looked to me would have outboxed him handily if the fight went rounds.

The other were good fights against good opponents, not no where near great opponents.

My point is Garia would never beat a great fighter like Mayweather, even a past prime one.
Pacquiao I think would beat him handily. To quick and to fast.

I'd make Thurman a solid favorite over him as well.

Garcia is a good fighter but definitely not the best in his division.

Khan, Peterson and Matthysse were the only prime guys there.

Guerrero looked decent because he is decent, just decent though, nothing else, and is very much on the slide.

Morales, Guerrero, Paulie, Zab were all considerably beyond their prime.

Lets not also forget Theophane, Herrera and Peterson all have solid claims of being robbed as well

If you're just looking at a list of names he has beaten - without watching the fights - then yeah, you can't really argue that it's a great resume.

The only reason Garcia gets hate is because he sparked Amir Khan. Now I sincerely hope Khan takes advantage of his mandatory position and makes the rematch with Garcia. Just by simply taking this fight I'll be shocked.

    Bump.
Respect to Swift Garcia. He’s fought everyone and has only lost to the elites of WW (Thurman, Porter, Spence) and never quit. He’s a basic fighter but he really uses the most of his abilities. He really does have a resume stacked with good names.

His padre Diablo needs to go. Here's what he said in the post fight interview, after giving Danny zero decent advice during the fight...east to have 20/20 hindsight:

During the news conference, the issue of Spence's jab caused a bit of consternation between Garcia and his father in one exchange between them.

"He didn't kill you with that jab," Angel Garcia said. "You just didn't counter with that jab. You'd seen everything. You'd seen everything."

Inactivity inside the ring was one of Angel Garcia's main talking points after the fight. He repeatedly lamented his son's lack of punches as he tried to find a big right hand over the top to hurt Spence.

"You can't slip and dip and don't counter," Angel Garcia said. "The judges, they don't give you points for that. You win rounds by landing. You have to land punches."

Danny Garcia has long been one of the best welters in the world. Just a very slight step below the elite level.

Add to that now Erroll Spence Jr, Shawn Porter and Keith Thurman.
