You said you're not comparing, but you are and it's a poor comparison. Ward isn't anywhere near Floyd's level in stature or popularity.

 

Mikey Garcia probably won't get a top fight straight away either.

 

I guess, because you can totally unload on them without worrying too much.

Example, practicing excruciating bodyshots. Kinda like using them as mobile heavy bags. Usually when done that way, the bigger man just practices defense and don't counter much or heavily. Floyd did that, i remember a video.

It makes sense. Also, i don't recall Sanchez ever saying he knocked out a heavyweight, just sparred.

 

A world class middleweight can spar heavyweights if they aren't ranked. Otherwise, I think they would bounce him around like a basketball.

 

It is a poor comparison I'll give u that because floyd is one of the few...rare.....with large commercial appeal......

U guys have created a scenario where ward could take a couple of fights and then ward/ggg would be much bigger......but it wouldn't be any bigger than it was 6 months ago.......Ward's name is big in the boxing community which is all tat really matters.....he wasnt going to make the fight bigger by fighting anyone else first....those who need to know who ward is know who he is....., this is not some over 35 fighter we need to see if he had anything left (notlike that ever stopped a fight from being made either)......

Andre Ward is top 5 on p4p lists as soon as he's active....that's all u need to know

Ward could fight james DeGale and ko him in 2 rounds and it wouldn't make ggg/ward any bigger than it would have been..., just would have made ggg run faster and harder away

Ward's inactive and comes back to fight a bum and he's still top 5 on every list .....but I guess he needs to prove himself and relevance lol

Depends on who you ask, I had him in top 10, still it's a more apt comparison than Floyd and Ward IMO.

 

If Ward beat DeGale then he's back to where he was. You can't just tell me a guy with little popularityl ike Ward can go out for three years and that doesn't affect his ability to get top fighters in the ring with him.
