Yeah from other average title holders and barely held on to them Salido beat Martinez and deserves his belt back. Jack/Groves should have been a draw and his win over Dirrell isn't that impressive since Anthony isn't that good.

So anybody who beats them don't get credit, is that your point?

I guess according to your logic Derek Edwards is a ATG at SMW since he beat the almighty and powerful future champ Badou Jack right?

I didn't say any of them were ATG's but I would like to know why you think beating them don't deserve merit or credit? Are you a boxer, can you fight, if it's so easy why aren't you on PPV?

I just can just tell how good a Boxer is by looking at them... you don't have to be a genius or a boxer for that matter to assess the level of skill and talent someone has. Also the sheer amount of piddily worthless belts or interim belts floating around in boxing from the countless sanctioning bodies they've rendered the significance of holding a title in some cases totally worthless, its almost like the WWE at this point.

Are all Floyd's titles bogus and worthless to? Has he fought anyone that deserves credit in your twisted mind?

I think it's the Money persona and the TBE thing that annoys people. I don't think people think Floyd actually sucks.

You can tear apart pretty much any resume and make a fighter look overrated.

Mayweather's resume is deep with GOOD fighters but short on GREAT fighters. Similar to a J.C. Chavez, where he has a lot of wins over good to very good fighters. The closest to a great that Chavez beat was Taylor, who was always going to be a shooting star, an excellent fighter for a short period of time, even if he never fought Chavez. Mayweather and Pacquiao did not fight when they should have in 2010, even 2011 or 2012, which would have boosted Floyd's all-time standings (I think the result would have been the same but a less dull fight). But they fought in 2015 and that was that. I don't give Floyd any extra credit because he aged also. That's why Leonard's win over Hearns in 1981 is a better win than Hagler in 1987. Hagler slowed by 1987, so did Leonard. Leonard doesn't get more credit for the win than he would have in 1982, just because he declined too. The closer the opponent is to his peak, the more meaningful the win.

Mayweather's resume of wins is one of the best among his era, but pretty weak among all-time greats. But that's the thing, it's comparing him to fellow all-time greats. So he's in great company.

He "called out" plenty of fighters, And you know what "calling out" proves? **** all.

You want to make a fight, you negotiate for it with lawyers and contractors. Words are just words, designed usually to create some publicity and get gullible fans excited.

Only casual fans and newbies would take that TBE **** seriously, although he is indeed a great fighter. While a number of highly ranked P4P fighters in recent years were merely good fighters in a poor era/division, Mayweather on the other hand was actually a great fighter.

I did this type of thread years ago to sarcastically bash Sugar Ray Leonard to show how easy it is to downgrade one's achievements. Shameless Ray, pimping out his own sister to try to weaken Wilfred Benitez's legs.

What a devious character he was.
