Yeah Marciano fought a consistent above average pace, but there was nothing like the Tua v Ike matchup.

I would only worry about your opinion if I found it agreeing with mine ,then I would re-examine my position.:good

Walcott was in better shape than Johnson was at 37. Walcott wasn't slowing down as much as you say one of his biggest rounds was in the 12th round. He didn't look too tired in the 13th before the KO. If he was its because Rocky was making a much faster pace than Willard yes even if you say Rocks was slow its still faster than Willard. Walcott had went 15 rounds four times in his life. Johnson was also knocked out by a light heavy even knocked down by a middleweight. So its a bit of a fail rebuttal with the Johnson thing. Please try again.

He was kd by a light heavy when he was one himself .I don't recognize the Ketchel kd as genuine. Bottomline 6 stoppages 3 of which came when he was 48 and 50, none of the three were count outs.
You got swamped ,just move on.

So, Walcott wasn't exactly at his best with a lot of his knockdowns poverty ruined Walcott for awhile. Still six stoppages an equal number yet you only look at the age and circumstances with Johnson but not Walcott. Walcott was a old man too getting KO'd against better men than Johnson.

    Walcott was retired at 37.
HE WASNT 48 AND OVER 50
He was ko'd when he was fighting on a regular basis and was22 ,23 ,and 26.

May I remind you it wasn't me who brought up Johnson, that was you. Bad example .

No perfect example you just have a love affection with Johnson. Walcott retired at 37 but I bet the house Johnson would've too if he'd been through the meat grinder with Rocky. Still like Walcott Johnson was also ko'd at 37 to a far less comp than Marciano. Not Walcott's fault he didn't fight on who are you to say he couldn't have the same success or from it sounds like no success like Johnson did.

I don't have any love or affection for Johnson, I actually dislike his style, but I try to be objective. You don't think fighting for 80 minutes against a giant is going through the meat grinder if the fight had been over 20 rds, he would have retained his title.?

I'm not saying anything about Walcott .He chose to retire, if it isn't his fault /decision that he didn't fight on whose fault is it?
Who are you to say Johnson would have retired after fighting Rocky?
Moore, Charles ,Layne, Lastarza ,****ell, Mathews among others didn't
    It's a silly argument
    .
You don't make a whole lot of sense do you know that?

Tua v Ike was a fast pace, but if you notice, it's a boxing match where the two are frantically sparring for ring centre. Kind of neutralizing their own punch quality in order to outscore the other, so neither man is going full steam. It sounds like a war and then you watch it. Nobody is getting hurt.

It's about the level that Tyson v Mitch Green or marciano v vingo or Ali v Jones were when those fights were made. Young prospects. It's not quite the finished article and then of course neither Tua or like were EVER able to replicate that output ever again.

When Tyson, Dempsey, Frazier and Rocky set off at a high tempo people were getting hurt.

The thing about Rocky's output for me isn't the volume... it's the intentions.

He just throw about 600 power shots a fight, all with the intention of knocking the other man out.

Who are we both to say they wouldn't do this they wouldn't do that. We can because we can't be proven wrong. Our of the six you mentioned how many ate the right hand that Walcott ate in the first match? If Johnson had its not far out of the equation that Johnson wouldn't want anymore fighting either. But if you really feel I'm swamped as you say. Why not leave your not going to come up with anything new anyway.

Yes, because of his fantastic conditioning he was capable of maintaining his power thoughout an entire fight. In these last rounds he gives Walcott a steady grinding down.
