True glory starts with unifying his division first- which is the best scenario considering that would involve also getting to beat the cash cow in boxing and becoming a "crossover star" and the man in boxing to beat. After he is undisputed + the cash cow, then he moves up. That's always been the plan, and it is the most logical one. He has time. Ward isn't going anywhere... and that may not be figuratively speaking either. His career literally seems to be at a halt. After he becomes undisputed, cash cow, now on the map with U.S casuals, say Ward becomes active again and beats Kovalev (BIG if)... if he's willing to face GGG at 168 imagine how big that fight could be. That could be the next mega-fight. Only happens of course if Ward takes his career seriously again. If he does, I'd imagine this is the ultimate plan. But in hindsight, no sense for Golovkin to go up to a division he's never fought at then have to squeeze back down to 157 to face Canelo in the next few months. It'd be stupid. So that's one reason why he's not going up to 168 until he is done with 160.
Way better talent coming through at middleweight and tons of light middleweights will have to move up at some stage 168 is q bit barren
You're forgetting the important part, once again. 50/50 at 164. That was a nice way of saying Andre needed to take the short money to get him to move to 168. And we all know how willing Andre was to do that. 50/50 at 168 next fall. Yeah, that's worth passing up Canelo for :rofl:rofl:rofl
:deal He just got schooled by ancient decrepit one legged Sam Soliman as in losing 9 rounds to 1, and got a gift, Wade gets stretchered out. Terrible matchup, he's not even close to ready for it. Antoine Douglas is light years ahead of Wade and he'd be destroyed as well.
I'm as big a fan of seeing boxing karma doled out as anyone, but Wade doesn't deserve that kind of payback for the Soliman robbery. :nono
This. At least Ndam goes the distance after getting knocked down 12 times. Wade is way too green to be fighting GGG.
Golovkin destroys Wade. No problem with Golovkin facing him since its a mandatory but Wade has no chance. The real interesting thing about this possible fight is what goes on behind the scenes. Wade is with Haymon and if he won the purse bid Golovkin probably has to fight on a PBC card, and I don't know if his HBO contract allows that, or he could get stripped of one of his titles.
