To me thats the only way to react to defeat, theres no point in feeling sorry for yourself just get on with it. Looking back on the Martinez and Quigg fight, it could have went so different only for Quigg getting a bit lucky with a sharp counter. Frampton wont walk onto a shot so easy.:deal

 

I know, Marty. Kiko was always an all-or-nothing kinda guy. Win big or lose big. Carl won't obligingly walk onto one like Kiko did.

The other thing about it is the way Quigg, Gallagher & Hearn are making out that Frampton cant keep his cool. They have blown ANY chance of that happening. Thanks to their big mouths, the one thing you can be sure of is that Frampton WILL be cool.

Your right am matched soft, I was suppose to fight decent guy Jones who beat Fitzgerald last fight but he pulled out matched with Polish guy 5 wins 15 losses but never stopped once so should get few rounds. I'm fighting 8 rounder and step up in class March 5th Birmingham match room show so happy to stay busy keep sharp.

Look, I'm on your side here. But you need to crack on with your career a bit. Time is not on your side. You are in your prime. I cant see any reason why a guy in your position isn't fighting at least 6 times per calendar year. Its how it was always done, but in recent years the cancer of inactivity has destroyed boxing.

Another thing you need to get working on is some 'gimmick' to boost your profile a bit - a la Conor McGregor. Look and learn. Something to draw in the spending public, the casuals. See how far the McGregor goon-show has taken him in a couple of years and - what - a half-dozen of those appalling spectacles that his fans call 'fights'?

Another thing Luke - you need a proper boxing nickname! You're not a poker-player - whats all this Cool Hand Luke business. You're a boxer - get a boxing nickname to suit your image.

first of all they have been reasons sighted for lukes inactivity and its all well and good suggesting getting 6 fights a year but that's hard to do if you want to find the right opponents

no one needs a gimmick. some people have more self respect than to turn themselves into a sideshow to attract fair weather fans in the hope of making a few more pound. if you have something to play off of eg sean turners big ***y nickname etc than I don't have a problem with it because he has been doing that since the beginning and its just the way he is. I do have a problem with anyone who one day decides they need to create a gimmick to help their popularity, this isn't the wwe len. Luke cant re cast himself as an evil ex kgb soviet villain, or do a john cena and go from clean cut to hip hop because its in at the moment

and cool hand luke has nothing to do with poker it comes from the paul newman movie of the same name and cool hand luke is a name that has been used by lots of boxers eg luke campbell

for one I havnt got such delusions of grandeur that I feel I should lecture a pro boxer on how they need to manage their career and image. im also not so delusional that I believe a pro boxer is going to take the advice of some no mark on a boxing forum

my advice to Luke would be to travel, get good sparing and look to stay active and get the fights he feels are right for him, pretty simple stuff.

 

also len if you advice came across as friendly no one would have an issue but it comes across badly condescending and ridiculous. you need to work on how you get your message across

 

😂😂😂 I quite like nickname and used it first before Luke Cambell glad someone cleared up where I got it from.

Agree regards six fights a year but easier said than done but in saying that im fighting feb 5th March 5th and either burnets undercard or mgm dublin show in April so I'll be well on way to six fights this year.

I think with gradual step up in opposition entertaining fights and tv exposure I'll build profile without needing a gimmick amazing how well worked for Conor and take a lot of inspiration from his belief and success but last thing I'll do is try be something in not. I'm sure with more exposure and tv with successful year I'll make crossover appeal without having to copy anyone.

Couldn't agree more regards sparring in uk I'm travelling over after my fight 5th feb and look forward to getting rounds in with biggest names in my weight experience gained from that is worth as much as couple fights!

Plan on having a huge year and stepping up in opposition 👍
