Just watched Dempsey vs Carpentier in HD

Again...Carp was LT heavyweight champion and Europen hwt champion. There is a long line historically of LT hwt champions getting a crack at the hwt title. Nothing new here. Only the haters and those that do not know what they are talking about put Dempsey down for fighting the LT hwt champion.

These would be the same people who would scream that Dempsey fought a middleweight and "so what" he knocked him cold if Jack had fought Greb.

 

It was an eminently justifiable title defence.

 

The fight was understandable given Carpentier's fame and the money involved, but let's not pretend it was ever anything other than a mismatch.
